Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Somehow using something Porsche actually used seems a bit cleaner.
Leading evidence: 'Use seems a bit cleaner' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean with just 911 though' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used a smoked LED to make extra brake light less obvious.

Suggestion
Staying with the theme above of using original Porsche stuff, how about using the 3.6 portion of the factory "Turbo 3.6" emblem on the back of the ducktail?

Maybe you could go slightly "retro" and use the actual letters from the 60's/70's 911s.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yeah I was thinking matte black "PORSCHE" raised lettering from the 991 and then have the smaller "Carrera 4" decal offset bottom right of the duck tail. Kind of like like the older RSR:
Leave it blank, use original badging (Carerra?), or go full retro/backdate and do the PORSCHE decal across the lid. I like blank.
Also, if you would be willing to share, where did you get the block off plate, bumper wart delete panel? I'd love to get one. Thanks!
Thanks for the comments everyone. The bumperette delete (or whatever it is called) is made out of a chunk of carbon fiber the shop had laying around. They contoured it to the sans-bumperette space affixed it somehow. The shop seems to fab up all sorts of OEM looking things. If I'm not running afoul of Rennlist rules, I can post the shop name and you can look at their stuff and other parts of this car on Instagram. I can take some closer shots of the blank later, but the car is still at the paint place right now.
There is a 996 specific block off/blank for the under window brake light. Part # 996.504.980.00.
I initially had mine installed but I figured with all the morons playing with their phones, I might as well use everything available.
Love the idea of the classic decal, but i think it might be hard to pull off w/ the 996 tail lights....
Follow your dreams, but I rather like something along these lines...
I like the looks of just the Porsche letters. Maybe you could go slightly "retro" and use the actual letters from the 60's/70's 911s. Somehow using something Porsche actually used seems a bit cleaner.
I don't think I would put anything that says "996" on it just because it is more of an "internal" model number. Porsche has never used anything but "911" in their badging for every iteration, so I think putting a reference to 996 on it would look out of place.

Where did you get the plate that deletes the bumper pads?
I saw one a couple years ago for sale out of CF, but it was custom made.
Who makes this one you have?

Exactly what I was thinking except was going to put "Carrera 4" small decal on the ducktail. Using 3.4 or 3.6 would be false advertising at this point....
What engine does it have?
The Porsche script below is actually off of a Panamera (not an early 911), not sure of the size or the letters, but seems like OEM emblems would look better than a decal:

I have ordered the matte black 991 "PORSCHE" letters from Suncoast, same as the picture below. Debating on putting the "Carrera 4" flat black small decal on the ducktail as someone did above.
I bought the car (2001 C4) for cheap with a foobar engine in a Copart auction and a crate LS3 may have found its way into it....
That should look great.
Very cool! If you have a video, would love to see/hear your car running.
Maybe something like this on the ducktail? ->

What's the point of having that engine if you can't freak a few people out with the emblems?
