Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

They use latest hunter alignment machines that preload porsche factory numbers or can customize to your discretion.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have 2001 C2 with Classic 2 18" wheels and ROW M030 suspension. I need an alignment based on my winter tire wear. Was going to take it to a local alignment shop which probably has never touch a 911. Closest Porsche shop is Porsche of Colorado Springs, which is a 5 hour one way drive. Is this something the local shop should be able to do? Or would I be better off going to a shop with Porsche experience?
That is a hard call, I was going to take mine to a local Porsche indy to have mine align, had i gone with the Indy, alignment would have cost me 275. one of the student in my better half class father has a Lambo, Ferrari and Aston repair shop, so gave him a call, and he recommended a tire shop in town that he uses. they did a great job with print out of before and after. cost was 125. So hard to say without asking around and had work done by them. other than alignments I do all my own repairs on the car.
I take mine to Firestone. They use latest hunter alignment machines that preload porsche factory numbers or can customize to your discretion. Plus for $189 a year of unlimited alignments or $450 for as long as you have car. Alignment on these cars is straightforward and the machine does all the work.
Don't have many options here. No Firestone. Just some small operations. Will give the shop a chance. They did the alignment on my wife's 2015 Jeep Cherokee after she sideswiped the neighbor's truck. Did a good job with that. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the input.
+1 for Firestone. And the main point is if they can do it, anyone can. I always go back and watch just to make sure they unhook the sway bar and that the printout they give me is from after they tighten everything.
Make sure to tell them the rear eccentrics are not a thru and thru bolt. If you put an impact wrench on them, thinking you are going to loosen them, it just galls out the aluminum and strips the bolt against the tabbed forward eccentric. The bolt is one-piece with the eccentric on the rears (2 per side) and there is a nut on the opposite end, inside a subframe opening, you have to loosen the nut manually then turn the eccentric. On my car when I disassembled the suspension all 4 rear eccentrics were shredded b/c someone (I assume) had tried to loosen them with an impact at some point in the car's life. If you rip the forward tab off with an impact you can get it aligned on the rack but it will slip during driving b/c the tab is not there to hold the eccentric bolt in place.
Other than that I think the alignment is pretty straightforward on these cars, as stated above.
