Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im thinking about muffler bypass pipes and started looking and different options. Why are Fabspeed so much more expensive? isn't it essentially just bent muffler pipe? What's the difference in that and me just bending some pipes on my own and welding tips on?

POST 2Original post

bought mine on ebay. Just 2 pipes and 2 tips. Nothing special.. No need to spend all that on a name brand bypass.....

POST 3Original post

On a scale of Fabspeed prices to I had a set made at my local guy for $50 its the same sound one way or another. Do t get me wrong - I really like Fabspeed quality - but its hard to mess up a 16 bent pipe.

POST 4Original post

Make your own, don't waste the money. nothing complicated about it

POST 5Original post

The only technology and cost I am aware of for exhaust pipes come down to how its bent (mandrel is best) and what material its made from (stainless is best). If stainless, I would do stainless for everything, including bolts and flanges.

POST 6Original post

I bought a set of these for my 99 Cab. no complaints. Has some nice BIG oval tips on them also. I have Fabspeed headers and Fabspeed x-pipe with 200 cell cats in front of these. http://belugaracing.com/product/pors...uffler-delete/

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, confirms what I thought!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, just got my bypass pipes. is it possible to remover the mufflers without removing the wheels?

POST 10Original post

I had to remove my wheels on my 4S.. I tried without removing them (may have got one out without removing the wheel). But it made it a lot easier to remove and re-install with the wheels removed.
