Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

47 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ive had these stripes laying around for almost a year. I planned and putting them on when I finished my engine work but while doing that I found the rot on the sills. I didnt want to put them on before doing the body work so here I am. I finished up putting everything back together on Monday and the stripes Wednesday eve. Not to difficult to install - just followed the directions...

POST 2Original post

I like it. It's an old school look, but you know what? Our 996s are starting to be old school. Looks good!

Yeah! My thoughts exactly...May even go for a ducktail and Fuchsfelge classics - eventually... Thanks for weighing in

POST 4Original post

I like it. Is that Midnight Blue? Looks the same color as my 996 - I might try this as well. Also, what suspension do you have? Yours rides a bit lower than mine. I'm looking to lower it from stock, but don't want it too low. I really like your ride height.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ocean Blue Metallic (3AZ) 3" classic Porsche side-stripe in silver. Got them from Carreradecals.com... good deal

POST 7Original post

I like it, I would leave it on until you're tired of it.

POST 9Original post

I like it. I want to add some stickers to mine as well, but I need to get my side skirts on first.

POST 10Original post

These cars are getting to the classic age about now (especially apparent when parked next to anything from the last five years!). I like the decal and have considered it for mine. Along with the duck tail, Fuchs and some plaid seat inserts. Yeah baby!

Im riding on Bilstein B8s with H&R sport springs

POST 14Original post

I second that. Kinda reminds me of the 911 Carrera RS

POST 15Original post

The stripes look good. Have you been doing some roof shingle replacement recently as well?

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 14906819

Hmmm, why would you ask? sort of a long story - suffice it to say they're leftovers that were re-purposed and haven't been put back where they belong yet... The photo ALMOST made me move them, but my hand truck had a flat tire and it was going to turn into a project...and I was pressed for time, so they stayed put

Indeed! I love that spoiler too

POST 19Original post

I like it. I was thinking about doing the same thing. Where did you get the decals?

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

^mentioned earlier in the thread 😉 carreradecals.com

Looks good. I thought maybe you were going to shingle wrap the car!

POST 23Original post

I like it too....but one thing I think it does it raises the beltline of the car.

POST 24Original post

These graphics are usually not my thing, however, dporto , the thing that is nice about yours is the fact that your graphic is a decent enough match to your wheels. The continuous silver against the blue is quite classy IMO.

POST 26Original post

Nicely done - you picked the right color, too. Compliments the car's paint, and more subtle than white. Me likey!

POST 27Original post

I like them! A lot! Reminds me of old Boxster S! Ahh the good times I had with her, cruising all over SoCal in that warm California sun.

POST 28Original post

I think these decals only look good on the classic 911 and the 996 is definitely becoming a classic.

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 14906648

Dig the white! Why'd you sell?

POST 31 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unanimous approval Wow! Unexpected for sure...Not that it would make a difference to me - I'm super happy with the way it looks, I just expected more push-back.

POST 32Original post

I may do this when I get my passenger door repaired again after getting hit for the third time while parked.

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 14914943

Oh man! That's brutal - I think about it every time I park my car good luck getting 'er fixed !!!

POST 34Original post

Dporto, that looks good bud. Nice job on the rust removal and repair too. Nice touch and I think the silver with the car color looks great.

I'm on a first name basis with the owner of the body shop now. They have matched my Rain forest green metallic perfectly in the past.

POST 36Original post

Personally i find non factory stickers on a Porsche tacky. :/

I hear ya! I thought Id get more feedback along those lines. I tend to err on the side of understated myself, but I like the way they look...

POST 38Original post

FWIW I like what you did. Not going to do mine, but I see nothing wrong with a tasteful mod.

POST 39Original post

Quotes source post: 14915856

As long as you like it, thats the important part. 996s are so cheap these days i doubt it will affect resale value either, so win win for you.

POST 40Original post

Resale value? These are stickers, you can remove them at any time.

POST 41Original post

Quotes source post: 14916656

and that was the point.

POST 42 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 14916548

no intentions of selling...

POST 44Original post

This is off topic but will this car beat a Mustang 5.0 in a quarter mile race?

POST 45Original post

I like this particular decal and have thought about it on mine. Looks good.
