Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, last fall right before i put my 99 c2 away for winter hibernation, the check engine light came on and told me it had a P0455 Evap Emissions System Leak detected (Gross leak/No flow) First thing was to check the fuel cap for cracks on the o-ring etc. I did, and it was very weathered and cracked. changed it out for a new one (all though I used a supposed correct fitment one from the local parts store.).... reset code, and comes right back. Ok do some more research, and seems that many people need to replace the Fuel tank bleeder valve thats right directly behind the fender (pictured). i replaced that as the video on Pelican parts shows. and, the code comes right back again. one thing im curious, is for the people that have replaced that, what the heck makes that little valve in it function. i though it would open and close with the flap on the fuel filler neck. i saw no way that it could... there is also a difference between this 99 c2, and my 01 996tt. when i push on the flapper valve on my 996tt, i hear something clicking open in a valve or something back inside the fender. but i do not believe my 996 c2 is designed the same...? any ideas of something else i should be looking at to eliminate this code?! The car will be going up for sale soon, And even though we have no testing or any opf that like many of you do, to register a vehicle for the road, the car runs great, and i'd rather not scare off potential buyers because of an engine light for something so silly... any help would be great. thanks!
