Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just completed taking apart a standard seat such as described above with the cylinder and changed the base to a fully motorized 12 way base.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Outcome without a verified action link
and it worked..full recline of the top part as well as full motorized bottom....
Ok............
I have standard non heat full power seats in my 4S now. I have a set of standard no heat power recline sport seats.
The base (Butt Dyno) on the stock seats is in better shape than the sport seat base.
Has anyone done just the back swap? From what I can figure and see it keeps forward back movement in place and still keeps the recline power in place.....
Thoughts??????
Tim,
Curious. Are the sport seats too tight for you or just worn? I replaced and added extra foam on the drivers seat bottom on my sport seats. The foam is ~$60 and it would only take about 1.5 hrs with the seat out to change it. The covers just snap\clip on no hog rings.
Also if you look at the seat bottoms you can pull the whole one piece bottom pan\foam\cover off the frame by releasing the two nylon pins in the front and opening the clips.
The cushion\plastic pan lifts off from the front and slides out of the back.
You will have to remove the wiring harness socket from the plastic pan, it turns 90 deg and drops out. The seat belt wire socket removes by pulling a separator out of the main socket and unclipping the wire from the seat rail guide clips.
I removed the base seat to lower 1.5 inches. You should be able to remove both base and replace with other. May only need to remove seat cushions with leather top.
Hello from Montreal,
This is my second post and promise to put up some pictures before oct-nov of my car.
if you need some pics for removal and install i can send them directly to you.. i don't know how to post pics here yet.
You can take the entire back from one seat and install it to another base but it requires to remove the bottom cushion, the side switch -seat belt wires-etc. 8 torx screws . your entire back will come off with 2 metal rails that will reconnect to your other base..
I just completed taking apart a standard seat such as described above with the cylinder and changed the base to a fully motorized 12 way base.
I have two beige 12 way power seats (soft leather) in Savanah beige yellow and 2 black full leather seats with manual front back movement with a motorized back.
I switched the power system from one set to the other... and it worked..full recline of the top part as well as full motorized bottom.... one seat done and 3 to go.
hope this helps a little.
regards
