Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I have to say that I feel the difference between the two cars and the 04 w/125k feels better at idle but when on the throttle they both perform really well & no difference.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an 04 C4S w/125k miles on the odometer and an 02 w/62k miles on her. My 04's oil pressure at idle is between 4 & 5 bar but on the 02 it sits between 2 & 1 bar. I recently purchased the 02 and had a PPI done & was told all was good but why the difference ? I have to say that I feel the difference between the two cars and the 04 w/125k feels better at idle but when on the throttle they both perform really well & no difference. I'm really confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

POST 2Original post

If you are talking hot idle, I think your 04 car needs a new oil pressure sender.

POST 3Original post

02 is how it should be; 04 C4S is high at idle (and on temperature I presume). Are you running thicker then usual oil? Sender makes most sense though. Volkert

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll check hot & cold & then repost. Thank you both for helping out.

POST 5Original post

Agree. Hot should be somewhere around 1, but some folks, including me, have 2 at hot idle, and some are less than 1. Cold could be anywhere from 3-5 (pegged). The manual indicates a minimum of 3.5 bar at 5,000 RPM when fully warmed up.
