Have you ever seen anyone replace those CD holders for a single DIN, and would I be able to utilize both headunits if I were to go that route?

I'm not looking necessarily for anything that can be controlled by the headunit itself - just a simple 3.5mm AUX cord that I can use my iPhone with.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, have had the car for a few days and have been poring over a bunch of threads trying to figure out how I can get an AUX input into the back of my PCM2 (i think?) head unit. I've read a few threads stating that if you have the CD Changer, this is doable. My unit appears to have the CD Changer button, though I don't think the car itself is equipped with one, unless its REALLY well hidden.

Also trying to stay away from aftermarket headunits if possible, I like the OEM look.
A search on here will unearth lots of information. The latest saga is from our friend in Melbourne, Australia who seems to have the same configuration as you - apart from his steering wheel is on the right side.

Two options:
- Dension type setup which can be quite expensive
- FM modulator which is a lot cheaper and works well too
I have Dension because I got mine for a couple of hundy.
Picked up my dension with bluetooth for around the same
Fortunately for you sixfiveoh you have the PCM2 unit which is compatible with the newer Dension Gateway BT which has bluetooth built into it if you want to go down that path.
Just an FYI as per my thread its proving difficult to get the CDC enabled. Even if the button is there if you dont have a CDC it wont work.
Oof, no other option than the $400+ dension unit? Have you ever seen anyone replace those CD holders for a single DIN, and would I be able to utilize both headunits if I were to go that route?
Might have to consult the experts on something like this...
Depends on if you'd like to keep your PCM2 unit or replace it with an aftermarket one. If you go the aftermarket route you have two options:
- new head unit + new amplifier OR
- new head unit + analogue to MOST output so you can keep your existing amplifier setup.
To be honest if cost is a concern buy an FM transmitter either wired (into aerial signal) or wireless (tune your radio to the frequency it puts out). That's your cheapest and easiest option.
This board has experienced members who have done all of this and more they are the experts.
Should have expected that. Less concerned with the cost if it does it's job, my experience with Denison just hasn't been that great. Had an icelink on my Audi that decided to stop working randomly. If it works, I'm happy. Will definitely keep an eye on your post for updates!
