Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there a DIY fix for the defrost vents? No matter what i vents i set the a/c to, its always blowing out the defrost, and often creating condensation on the outside. I was told it was something to do with the vent flaps, but is there a diy to fix it? The foam bits have subsided, so i assume there is nothing left to the flap seals

POST 2Original post

There is no simple DIY for replacing the foam on the internal doors of the HVAC system. To get to them requires removing the entire dashboard. There is one DIY that I heard of that you can gain access by removing the heater core and cutting away part of the box. That being said, I see you are in Florida and I have the same problem at times because of the high humidity. What I do is put the AC at the same temperature, or slightly below, ambient air temperature. That solves it for me. The condensation forms on the outside of the windshield, so even one quick swipe of the wiper blades clears it off.

POST 3Original post

Here is one good diy for the flap repair. You need to setup drop box https://www.dropbox.com/s/hx9qr0t3jt...epair.pdf?dl=0 It is from this thread http://986forum.com/forums/performan...nt-debris.html There are others.
