Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The PO kept it a natural aspirating engine, but replaced the air box with a cold air intake.

Would recommend a thorough ppi, especially to understand if it has been in some accident.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's an odd mix of body features. C2 style front bumper cover (but with air slots on the top), but on the rear we have the side air intake like on a Turbo, the rocker is the aero style (not the Turbo / C4S or C2 styles), the ad says it is a C4S coupe, but at the rear we have the Turbo/C4S rear lower slots, but not the C4S red stripe across the engine lid, I don't recognize the rear spoiler, interior has hard-backed seats, custom mirrors? The VIN decodes as a "Carrera 4 Cab"?

Is this a special 996 variant? Did somebody build it this way?
It looks like it's a bunch of aftermarket add ons. It looks like it was well executed, but a bit confused. Every time I think about doing anything like that (body/aero stuff), I get a queasy feeling and stick with everything stock (except the suspension, and the Solution IMSB, and the low temp thermostat and the third radiator and the...).
Obviously not a cab so either VIN is incorrect or the de-coder is wrong. And I thought the C4 had the wrap around rear reflector between the tail lights??Very strange looking. A real Frankenstein.
Nice car but always concerned why the previous owner embarked on modding the car. Accident? If it is a 4S it is weird the po dropped the red stripe on the back and the turbo bumper, it is such a cool feature. If you like it, it does not really matter if it is a C4 or a C4S. It's got sport seats, is lowered, nice rims etc. Would recommend a thorough ppi, especially to understand if it has been in some accident.
Vindecoderz is usually right but you have to get down to their "build sheet" if it has one, very often the upper info is erroneous.

You need to find what was included in the P04 Advanced Technic Package.
Usually the sport seats and if they are painted would be listed so they might be in the P04.
Colored Crests are gone and i thunk those were 997 wheels not made at build time.
Caveat Emptror
My 1st though was that it was wrecked on both ends and modded in the repair.
Obviously, even the dealer doesn't know what they're selling on this one. In the CL ad, they list it as a "C4S", and on their company website, it's listed as a "Carrera S". We all know that Porsche didn't make a "Carrera S" in the 996 series. But this one takes the 2017 Frunkenstein award! A perfect example of... it's not what you put in it, but what you can get out of it.
Some observations:
1. Check the CarFax, it's been
wrecked!
2. PO installed what appears to be an aftermarket Duraflex GT3 RS front bumper with air splitter.
3. The rear bumper is a aftermarket turbo/C4S-like.
4. The side vents are turbo-like, but judging from the engine pictures, this is just for looks. The PO kept it a natural aspirating engine, but replaced the air box with a cold air intake. No need for intercoolers eh?
5. The spoiler is OEM stock. One of the only nice touches.
6. The side skirts look OEM.
7. The interior is pretty much stock with exception of some changes in metal bits - center console, steering wheel, etc.
8. The radio is aftermarket.
9. Porsche lettering under the CD holder is tacky.
10. PO installed a satellite antennia "Fin" on top. Tacky alert.
11. The turbo 19" wheels are nice.
Overall, it's got a lot of aftermarket ad-ons, but at the end of the day, it's still a wrecked 2002 Carrera with a near 100K miles. I'd pass on this one.
The dealership probably added the emblem. Mine (a small "boutique" place) did the same to my 986. Apparently, having it say "Boxster" helps people recognize it's a Boxster. Who knew?
It's a shame that someone spent all that money trying to make it look like a Turbro, and then someone stuck a damn Carrera badge on it.
*Edit* Looked at the car more on the dealer's site...
http://www.gemotorcars.com/vehicle-d...ca-id-19745837
The interior is much nicer than I was anticipating. It looks like someone spend a little money trying to do a decent job...
It's EITHER the result of someone who spent too much money trying to make the car something it isn't - like the previous owner of my car - or it's got a secret. I wonder if the lot took it on trade or bought it at auction...
Looking at the Carfax, seems a good many of the "upgrades" were dealer-installed, starting before the report of the collision damage (maybe that's just an artifact of the report timestamps...dunno).
As far as "wrecked" - damage reported and "wrecked" aren't necessarily the same thing.
Looks like he had letters left over after refinishing the calipers. Should have resisted the urge to stick them to the center stack.
