I've also got a C2 in black (Basalt metallic), with the II 18 wheels, which I love - they are SO easy to clean compared to the horrors on my E39 M5 (look great though), and a previous A4 DTM which had 17 spoke wheels (yes 17!).

Had the sport design wheels on and loved the look but they where a b*tch to clean so got the 997 Carrera III's which are simple and easy to keep clean.

May have just missed out on scoring a second set as spares when I met a guy yesterday who has a mint set but is swapping them for some 17s for his 944 Turbo

I love the narrower spoke of the II's and was looking for a set but they seem to be harder to come by and much more expensive.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Finally got the tires and spacers and found the time to get everything mounted..

I think they are the same rims you have now that I have on my 40th Anniversary Edition, except for the polished aspect.

Was considering 19s but then smartened up (Drive on horrible NYC roads) so the search was on for 18's. fronts required 7mm spacers to bring them out a bit.
It looks like on the bottom pic the fronts can come out another 6-7mm; so put 13-14mm spacers up front and put the 7mm out back. It will def add a better look, not to mention, you'll feel an improvement in the tracking with the spacers up front.
I can definitely get away with bigger spacers all around. The spacers I currently have put the 8" et 57 wheel at et50 which is the stock offset upfront. The rears are et58 and are slightly more aggressive then the oem et65. Im ok with this set up at this point.
Just came back from a "test" drive and I am amazed at these htrz III's they are softer over road bumps then the 17" bridgestones they replaced and are FAR softer and quieter then the OEM spec continentals I had on previously. I have to admit I didnt know tires can be SO different in the same size.

it looks like you are having the same problem i am having cleaning insides those carrera classics, you have a dirty strip as i do after i roll the car into the garage, so frustrating.
A set of like new III's were available locally and priced well - had to jump on it. I love the narrower spoke of the II's and was looking for a set but they seem to be harder to come by and much more expensive.

The sport design wheel is not the same as the Carrera II wheel. He put the carrera III's which are from the 997. I'm wondering what the advantage is, or is it only that he liked the looks of it. They are similar but not the same
