Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

have you checked for trouble code(s) with an OBD-II scanner or other tool?)
Leading evidence: 'Check trouble code(s)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'whole lot is going' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check debris' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
Wow, I suspect a whole lot is going on in that engine.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi first timer here. Just had a weird sound hit pulling into a store. Almost sounds like a grinding. I have only turned on the car this one other time since to record the sound in this video
Any thoughts are truly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to Rennlist! The sound is awful and I suggest NOT ever try to crank it until you find the cause. There's all sorts of grinding and rhythmic knocking (read score cylinder type) of noise.
You may want to remove the serpentine belt and hand spin all the pulleys and the engine itself. Also remove the oil filter and check for debris.
Wow, I suspect a whole lot is going on in that engine. Specifically sounds like it won't run, saw some smoke in the left side of the video. Sounds like a timing issue at the least. Has any one done work on the valvetrain recently? Has any work been done recently? Did this all of a sudden show up or were their symptoms that built up to this?
Does not sound too promising. It's also struggling to crank over which to me would indicate its having difficulty turning over as its running as well.
Unless its some badly seized accessory driven off the serpentine belt I would say that motor is toast.
It could be something as benign as really bad fuel. Are there any stored diagnostic trouble codes? (i.e. have you checked for trouble code(s) with an OBD-II scanner or other tool?)
+1 for examining the accessory and idler pulleys.

battery sounds almost dead, doesn't sound like fuel is being sent properly or maybe not igniting. Then while it does run there is aweful piston slap noise, though maybe not enough compression.
Don't start it again! You are driving it to DEATH!
It has low compression on at least two cylinders. The near dead battery helps to make this even more evident while the engine is on the starter. I can hear it a mile away.
Sounds like it's lost at least one cylinder, and has a rod knock... Thats just guessing, but it definitely has low compression on at least two cylinders.
I could probably diagnose this one in about 10 minutes.
