Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install brighter drls' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean car' type of guy' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You can also see the leave guards which I installed over the air intakes.

Mounted a DC-AC inverter in the engine compartment, ran an orange 50' extension cord to the inverter from the front trunk.

I use the same connector for my radar detector and GPS with camera.

Suggestion
If you're driving anything that has enough capacitance that it matters, using a diode on that leg can ensure you don't feed any current backward through the line (though this is most often an issue with fans that wind up windmilling after the car is switched off).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Nice, but they are blocking ~20% of the already slightly blocked intake. (By the "aftermarket" screens)

Hurdi, do you have any pics of your instal process for the grills? I thought about this last winter when I had my bumper cover off, but there was so many curves, I couldn't find a way to mount the grating.
Wrong color. Don't line up with the head lights. Don't match the lines on the bumper where you mounted them (e.g. Sticks out). And it's been shown that DRLs do nothing for safety and in some cases of exceptionally stupid drivers, they decrease it (not turning on their headlights at dusk/dark).
I applaud that you do these types of things Hurdi, but the result isn't there. As long as you're happy with it though.
I have never complained when someone called me a pedant. I just wonder why that specific post among all more more deserving ones I've made got me in trouble
There is a reason............ ...... I don't actually see your posts unless someone copies it......... I am sure there is plenty of material I miss.........
Your avatar intrigues me. What did you do, bronze your first IMSB?
Got it.
Some twit got his panties in a knot because I pointed out that he posted a pointless question with no context.
Maybe you should restrict such whiners to RLOTP&C for some remedial instruction on what real insults look like
I think dgi answered it best
And yes it does sit on my desk where I fiddle with it multiple times a day
Hurdi,
Glad to hear you got a great deal from our wonderful Walmart. But how are the LED lights wired? Do you have to manually turn them one with a switch or did you connect it to a relay?
Also, I noticed you added the screens in front of the air ducts... have you seen an increase in engine temps? Looks like it would add air-flow resistance.
Mounted a DC-AC inverter in the engine compartment, ran an orange 50' extension cord to the inverter from the front trunk. There's a 8-outlet power strip in the front trunk; a 12v DC adapter plugged into the power strip supplies electricity to the LEDs.
The power strip in the front trunk is very handy, since one can plug in an electric leaf blower to clean out the gutter guards - er, mesh intake cover - on the front bumper.
Just kiddin', Hurdi. Looks fine. The only issue I have is that LED DRL's are now so overplayed that Hyundais come so equipped. It's the new HID, which was the new Lambo door.
Hate to admit it, but I agree with Gnat.
Looks to me like someone went to Walmart, spent maybe $30 or so, and got some cheapo LEDs to stick onto the car.
I thought the alignment being off was just an optical illusion, but in Hurdi's distance view, it seems that they are not really aligned vertically or horizontally with the grille openings?
What were you using as your reference for how to orient the lights?
I think I prefer the way you had the first set of lights oriented compared to the new ones:
They come on with the ignition. Down by my right foot there's a panel that pulls out. Inside there a hanging connector. 2 of the four contacts on the plug are on all the time and the other two come on with the ignition. I connected to the ignition side and fed my twin wire cord through the firewall, into the battery compartment and under the carpet of the frunk and out into the air ducts. Out through the gutter guards and into one DRL. Then linked back across and out again to the other DRL.
I have not seen any difference in engine temps since adding the grills. Letting leaves and crap into the scoops is more likely to put engine temps up. The grills keep the leaves out.
That's cool. If it's not too much trouble could you post a picture of this connector? I would think most people would wire it into the fuse panel. I am interesting in converting my fog lights into DRLs, but I don't think I'm going with the add-on LED lights. Thanks so much!
No problem. I use the same connector for my radar detector and GPS with camera. Well to another distribution point which I have in the small compartment under the radio. It seems like a lot of wires but I need them all.
Note that once you are running 15-20 aux devices off the phone connector like Hurdi and pulling so many amps that the fuse gets warm to the touch, using the switched +12v on that connector to operate one or more relays switching fused +12v from the battery may be a good plan.

What's all the sh*t hanging out of the dash - 1st pic in comment #36?
Typically the wiring goes
inside
the dash...
Oh jesus.
"Well to another distribution point which I have in the small compartment under the radio"
- you have wire looping outside the console to a 12v cigarette lighter jack you have stuffed in the storage cubby?
Dude. It's starting to look like Radio Shack threw up on your center console.
Point of order: Is that brown speaker wire you're using to run power to your DRL's, or lamp wire? Not that either is correct for the application, but inquiring minds want to know.
Because I'm a giver, I snapped another photo of Hurdi's wiring. (Hurdi, the fact that you don't constantly call me an a**hole is remarkable. Thanks for being a good sport).
He's originally from the UK. Depending on exactly where in the UK, he's either too polite for that or has a standing kill order on you to be carried out by gypsies.
I have to admit I am not a 'clean car' type of guy. I take the foot carpets out and bash them on the floor and that's about it. I might have vacuumed them 6 times in almost 6 years of ownership. I also take my dog who has sharp nails and he has marked up the consul lid something rotten jumping in and out of the back seats. My car is a 'keeper' and my last car. The inside of the car windows have dog nose prints on them. I will clean them when I am ready. Yeh my car is certainly being used. Not standing around showing itself off to passers by. I expect some of you guys are cringing right now. That doesn't bother me one bit.
No offence taken. I am the worst person for upsetting people with my name calling and harsh complaints on this forum. I say "you shouldn't give it unless you can take it" Anyway the PCA did feature an early morning photo of my car in their magazine. I think they were more interested in the back ground than the car lol. Here is the featured photo plus another taken during the winter at Blue Marsh Lake PA. No points awarded for guessing which Soccer Team I support from the UK.
