Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'll admit, I've changed the look of my car, but with OEM parts such as 996 aero side skirts and TT/C4S front bumper, but I've also keep the original items in storage just in case the next owner wants to put it back to the original factory look.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 5 minute project for today. Purchased some painted ones to swap out. It does make a difference. Before and after.

POST 3Original post

Waiting for my painted ones to arrive. Should be next week. Looks great!

POST 4Original post

One of the reasons I bought a 2002 model year. Definitely like the look over the black ones.

POST 5Original post

Much MUCH better!!! The black ones look to 1970ish. Did you ever find a solution for your audio problem??

POST 6Original post

I'm biased but I like the black ones on mine. But it's minight metallic blue so they blend in more.

POST 7Original post

They look great on there. I will admit to considering it myself, but.. A ton of my work (time and money spent) in the collector car biz is just trying to put things back like they were, original and correct. I'd save the old ones. I get it, folks want to modernize, customize, improve and clean up the look of their cars, no harm in that at all. I'm just saying that 30 years from now, some poor soul is gonna be looking everywhere for amber lamps, 4 spoke steering wheels and black bumperettes..

Good point. That's one reason why you want to put OEM parts on the car especially when it come to the overall look. I'll admit, I've changed the look of my car, but with OEM parts such as 996 aero side skirts and TT/C4S front bumper, but I've also keep the original items in storage just in case the next owner wants to put it back to the original factory look.

Doesn't matter to me, I am keeping mine until it blows up, or I do.

Yup, orange cap mod.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13674974

I kept the old ones as well as everything else oem for the car. I think it looks better until someone decides to "bump" them, and scratch them up.

POST 12Original post

"The black ones look to 1970ish."... In collector circles, it's known as "vintage"...

POST 13Original post

Agreed on the ambers and bumperettes, but three spoke wheels were optional - code 436. Real wheels (the tire kind) will be a challenge too.

POST 14Original post

I too am a fan of orginal cars, hence I left my pcm1 and pumpkins on mine. I did powder coat the wheels black, in hind sight I should have just plasti dipped them

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 13675570

This is funny, because painting the wheels black is way more of a noticeable differentiator from "original" than pumpkins.

POST 16Original post

HEAT, If you are near Annapolis, drop by cars and coffee at City Dock From 8-12 on Sundays! The painted ones are much better IMO!
