Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Good looking car, I'd verify if it was the LN classic or Pro bearing also.
Leading evidence: 'ln classic or pro bearing also' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'ln classic or pro bearing also' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check nada price, work' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Based on the NADA values at the time and a clean PPI I felt this was a reasonable deal.

Suggestion
KBB uses an algorithm with multiple data points- auctions, dealers, private sales, economic conditions; and it is said to favor dealers so it's prices are often high.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Long time lurker here. Been wanting a 996, and nearly pulled the trigger on a C4S this spring, but was moving into a new place at the time and that took precedent. Anyways I've been keeping a pulse on the market and now that I'm all moved in have resumed the search.
Test driving one this weekend and while I have my own opinions on the value of this particular car, curious to hear what yall have to say.
2004 C4S
35k miles
LN kit and RMS seal done 5k miles ago
PSE, Heated seats, wheel crests, Bose, alum, technic package, short shifter, etc
I think it's pretty solid looking, PPI dependent of course. Thoughts on worth?
30k without breaking a sweat*. Beautiful car.
*If I was going to spend this close to 997 money on a 996 I'd get a thorough PPI to verify the heart is in good shape.
Market value in the low to mid 30s, probably, depending on how ambitious the seller is (based on my C4S search earlier this year). Good deal if you could get it at 30k or less.
I got my 2004 C4S with 45k miles almost 3 years ago for $37. Bought from a dealer and included a 3 month power train warranty. Based on the NADA values at the time and a clean PPI I felt this was a reasonable deal. Save some preventative maint I have had no issues in 13k miles other than minor plastic bits breaking inside (both visors and a couple tabs on trim bits).
Thanks for the replies, I'm also in the low $30's camp. Seems the median price on the 996 C4S is about $29k these days, with about 4-5k in wiggle room each direction depending on condition, mileage, etc. I'll report back in if there is a deposit made this weekend....

says for "this" car (2004 C4S with 35K miles) in "very good condition" being sold by a private seller the price would be $26629. Trade in value range approx. $22.2K to $26K with a "trade in value" of $24175.
KBB uses an algorithm with multiple data points- auctions, dealers, private sales, economic conditions; and it is said to favor dealers so it's prices are often high. So why the difference? I think this beautiful C4S with low mileage and IMS done should be worth low 30's as well.
Yep that was one of my first questions. Seller wasn't aware of the difference, but he has the paperwork, so I'll check myself when I go look at it this weekend.
The fact that winter is about two weeks away (I'm in the mountains) has definitely crossed my mind--not too many people looking to buy a 911 when snow is on the ground, so hopefully the seller realizes this...
