Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

49 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was cleaning under the spoiler today, and I noticed that when I raised it up, it creaked a bit. I put some synthetic bearing grease on the runners, but I think it's the inner pieces that need the lubrication. I assume this is something that needs to be lubricated every once in a while (like on my Corrado), so what is the correct procedure to do this? Thanks, - Anthony

POST 2Original post

yes there is a tiny hole for lube, I will look for a pic/diagram and post it for you....

POST 3Original post

tri-flow in the aforementioned tiny hole has kept mine from squeaking.

POST 4Original post

Little hi-jacking... I don't have the manual button to raise my spoiler. Is there anybody with a DIY to install one ? If not how can I raise this thing manually

POST 5Original post

this is a funny thread..... you should just talk to your GF/Wife/doctor about this problem rather than talking to a bunch of guys on a car forum.

Their is a spoiler button on the left side of the driver's footwell on the fuse cover. You can run a jumper wire from there to the upper center console and get a Turbo spoiler switch to install in the horseshoe. Check out this link. Spoiler Switch Install

Barn, the only good thing about Ed having an an cooled engine is that when we run out of popcorn he can quickly do a batch of "air popped popcorn," which is much healthier that oil popped popcorn.

POST 43Original post

I never knew there was a hole in the rear like that requiring lube. I'm typically up front driving and having too much fun to pay attention to what's going on in the rear. Makes sense though, if it makes noise while going up and down; must need some lube. The hole looked very tiny, is it hard to get it in? Should you spray it directly into the little hole or just generously spray it into and around the hole? (wow that all sounds very dirty after reading the "high-jacking" parts of this thread)

POST 44Original post

After that they are all a rollin round on the floor -- the question is -- who will get it together and get in first?

POST 45Original post

Quotes source post: 7451318

I believe you have to 'smear' it around the hole.

POST 46Original post

Quotes source post: 7444482

Did he really say he didn't have a car to "mount" it on?

POST 47Original post

yea.... its a 996 part - do you need it? its in my garage (along with an another entire rear deck lid ***, and 2 other pop up wings...... and some other stuff )

POST 48Original post

Quotes source post: 7451663

...... there is enough of the "other stuff" to make two compete 911's but they will be "mutts" made up of mis-matched Carrera, Turbo, GT3 and GT2 parts.

POST 49Original post

Neutered mutts at that - no motor (aka *****)
