Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys, just thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Matt. Just picked up my first Porsche tonight, 04 911 C2 with just over 46K miles. Seems to be great condition. Previous owner traded in for a new model, seems to be very well taken care of. Gray, all leather w/controls. Love it so far. Previous owner installed a radar detector, haven't figured out brand yet, but it's built into car.
Welcome to Rennlist and Contrats on getting a nice looking 996!! At least I think is is nice looking car but can't raeally tell because you didn't post pics.
It is customery for Newbies to tell us a little about their car and to post pics, so consideer this next sentence your "Newbie Initiation!"
Come on Newbie, post the @#$%^&* pics!
Please know that this is all meant in good fun, but we do like our pics! Again welcome to Rennlist!
BTW, what part of SA do you live in? I lived in tthe NW part (Wurtzbach & IH010) area for about 30 years until 10 yeaqrs ago.
Yeah, I saw your popup in front of mine while I was waiting for my screen to update... Can't blame a guy for trying to save a new brotha!
Still looking for the pics!
Rudy
Our newbie is out driving at midnight in the sweet new-to-him 996.
Getting a little helmholtz action at high rpms's and saying "whoa", ha.
Welcome and now post up some dirty pics of the P-car, ha.
Guys, wow, this is awesome! Thanks for the great welcome. Yes, last night I got on 6speed before I found Rennlist. I'm don't know one from the other, but Rennlist seems pretty established. I haven't been on since I signed up last night and I was at school all day and came home to this!
I just ran out and took some pics, I just gotta get them on photobucket and they'll be up in a few.
gota911, actually, I live on the west side near 410 and 90W. Just here for a year while I'm in school then off to Kansas... in a month!
ok, pics on the way in a few.
okay, they are uploading. So, here's my story. I am in the Army and I spent 4 years in Germany. In 2005 I got a new M3 and drove it for a couple of years. It was great, my first sports car, and that's how I fell in love with a 6 speed manual. Then I sold it because I planned to leave the Army to go to medical school. So, I got a FWD Audi A3... which I ended up hating because it was both auto and FWD. Then I learned about this Army Physician Assistant thing and got picked up for that and that's why I'm in San Antonio, going to school at Fort Sam Houston. So... since I was staying in I figured what the heck, and I got the new C63 AMG... crazy power monster, but another mistake. Automatic...
Sold that in San Antonio after I brought it over the pond because it was depressing to drive in this traffic.... slow... and it was no fun. Picked up a used Infiniti G35, drove it for the last 9 months and of course, not happy. Sooo... I just got so lucky to run across this 911 at the dealer here in town. Previous owner from Atlanta drove to San Antonio to trade in on a new model and walla, there she is. Great price, not crazy high mileage, and the options I would have picked myself. After driving it around for several miles today I brought me right back to the fun I had driving the M3. Except this seems to have the potential to be even more fun. I slide through almost every turn...
So much fun!
Thanks Marc! I like yours as well. Although, I'm not saavy with Porsche yet. I really never thought I'd actually have one. Don't know why, but I always looked at Porsche as... well... on another level. I'm pretty stoked.
Anybody got any idea on the radar detector. Built into the car, one sensor that I know of is under the front bumper, two lights in the car on either side of the climate control console, and a little red and black dual **** between the seat heating buttons. No idea what brand, how old and/or how effective it is anymore.
WOOHOOO PICS!!
OK first things first
THANK YOU for your service. Me and my family want to thank you for that!
Second... testing radar is easy.........you said you have money right... so just punch it and see what the cops do
Seriously, a good shop can tell you what it is - stop on by and get to know them. They are always handy for info and service. Become aquainted BEFORE you require and emergency repair. Makes it easier (like having a Dr you see on a regular basis.....)
Cheers and look out - this is a slippery slope because after the pics comes the "mod suggestions"
Welcom aboard. Seal grey is a good choice and the lightweight wheels are my favoite on the C2. Good luck with her and thanks for serving. Glad you are able to reward yourself with one of the finest vehicle on the planet. Im sure you wont be dissapointed anymore
So, so far need to lose the orange turn signals, mod 1. Will do that one ASAP. Who sells the clear markers and silver bulbs that light up orange?
On the speaker box, no idea. Is that something added in on top of the rear deck in there or something? I'll have to get back there and check it out. Anybody got some pics of what it looks like back there in the stock configuration?
