A neighbor just went on a whim and bought his wife a 1999 996 C4. Beautiful NorCal car with low miles. He knows very little if anything about the car and started asking many questions about maintenance. What can you do questions??? Could you guys or gals point me to a recommended service guide and also tell me about the do's and dont's. I would like to help the both of them before having them get gouged by local dealers, thanks.

Much easier to service than the previous generations starting with oil changes. Renntech should have the service list. The board members from your area should be able to recommend a reliable indy for them to service their new ride.

Also have your neighbor read his owners manual. They will see all the recomended oil changes etc., but this forum can help by suggesting shorter oil/filter changes and other maintainance proceedures. An indy familiar with Porsches is another great suggestion, as well as joining Rennlist.GL
