Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Is there anything in the track blocking the movement (towel, cleaning supplies, etc.)?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Morning All,
Hopefully someone can help... I was cleaning my car this morning and moved the seat to the forward position. Now I'm trying to move it back but nothing happens?
All I hear is a couple of clicks (sounds like a solenoid?) and that's it.
The seat still has the up/down adjustment and seat back fwd/back so its just the fwd/back adjustment that is not working. I can't see much down there due to the seat position but it looks like the there is only one motor... so if it works for the other adjustments not sure what the issue is?
Thanks in Advance
Sean
I had a similar issue with my car when I first got it (used) almost 4 years ago. The up/down cable had end had snapped off. Dealer said they had never seen that happen before. The repair was covered under warranty.
Is there anything in the track blocking the movement (towel, cleaning supplies, etc.)? Have you tried to "help" it move back by pushing gently on the seat?
It could be that the connection or the cable for the forward/aft came unplugged. Raise the seat as high as you can and try to see if there is a plug loose. If all else fails, remove the seat bolts and tilt the seat back for better access.
Let us know what you find.
I had/have exactly the same problem. It happened on xmas when I was getting some gifts out of the car. In my case the switch went bad. I rewired it temporarily so I could move the seat back and i'm trying to find a replacement. A replacement from Sunset is $287. I'm reluctant to drop that amount on a simple switch assembly but I'm coming up dry in my search. Let me know if you find anything.
I didn't find anything... but then I couldn't really see anything down there either!!
I just got back from the East Coast so dropped her off at the dealer earlier (Don @ Auto Gallery).
He said he'd had a few come in like this and said its either an obstruction in the seat rail or a short on the motor.
I'll let you know what he says on Monday.
