Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car had the nose replaced sometime before I purchased it. Apparently somewhere along the line, the outside temp sensor was either damaged or never reinstalled. I get an error message when I start the car and on my dash I get a ----F where the outside temp should be. Can anyone tell me where I can find the sensor and where it should be connected to the dash? I've done a search and can't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

POST 2Original post

It's on the passenger side radiator intake, well at least it should be. Rick 99 996C4 87 944S

That is where mine is too. Alomost looks like a large plastic dart.

POST 4Original post

Correct, in the radiator vent opening on the passenger side. I have had my front bumper cover replaced twice and both times the tecs forget to bring the sensor out before installing the cover. Look up inside and I will bet you will find a wire there. The sensor is probably tucked in between the cover and the brackets. Go to your local Porche dealer and a tech will fix it in about five minutes and they shouldn't charge you for the work.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Would it be a good assumption that when they installed the front bumper that they just forgot to connect the sensor?

POST 6Original post

I would be it is behind the plastic shroud. Youtube has a great video on how to remove the whole bumper. It is about a 30 min process. Need a phillips head screwdriver and a T-25 torx driver.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have to remove the whole bumper???
