I suspected it was the snow in/under the car so I drove straight to a diy car wash and washed out all of the gunk.

At this time I noticed that one of the front splitter holes was piled in with snow, completely filling the hole.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So it's been snowing pretty well here the past few weeks. We just had a storm dump a bunch of snow a few days ago and I took the car out before they'd plowed all the roads. As a result driveways were piled high with almost a foot of snow in some places(cars make ruts & snow gets piled up). In one place I had no choice but to drive through this crap. Everything worked out in the end, but overall it wasn't a pleasant experience knowing snow's getting stuffed in and under the car.
So I take the car out today onto a freeway for the first time after that incident. At 60 mph+, the steering wheel starts shaking violently. It was oscillating about 10 times a second, and both hands at the 9 and 3 with full pressure couldn't stop the jerking motion. The faster the speed the more violent the steering wheel shake. The car felt fine on the freeway however. It was just the steering wheel doing this.

Took it back onto the freeway and it drove fine. Now since this issue only came up at higher speeds, I'm suspecting that the snow was messing up the aerodynamics of the car, causing this to happen, but that doesn't explain why the car drove fine even when the wheel shook so badly.
Anyway, if you're driving in the snow, be careful none of it gets stuck onto the car, or bad things will happen!!
I1 for ice packed in the wheel, when it sits warm the snow falls to the bottom and then re-freezes making a very large and heavy wheel weight on one side - often time just driving wont cause this to happen, but if it sits after being packed in there it does -
get it our before going out again, its hard on things to be so out of ballance
So it was the wheels. That's good to know. I'll be sure to check that every time I'm out.
@Jim: The car's in a heated garage(~60 deg F), but even with that it takes days for chunks of snow to break apart.
I don't believe it. I don't see any snow. Sure its winter but that doesn't mean snow now really. It's the max of high 60's sheeze
Never happened with no pictures ha ha ha
Oh yah, if you didn't already know about snow doing it the mud will also pull the same trick.
