Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know if the Fidelity Powertrain Warranty covers IMS/RMS since it is inclusionary?... https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=...thkey=CPX2g5IE

POST 2Original post

my guess - NO (I didnt read it, but IMS is not powertrain - nor is RMS "seal")

Have you asked the issuer of the policy?

I called Fidelity. They said "YES". IMS and RMS are considered part of the powertrain. But PLEASE call them and corroborate what I heard and report back here. TIA

POST 5Original post

I've had one warranty company pay for an IMSR procedure when we caught a bearing in failure mode... BUT the experience of dealing with them proved to me that I'd never make another warranty repair.. The car was here for over two months, I wasted DAYS dealing with their staff and adjusters that were absolutely LOST.

POST 6Original post

Roadsession: what they say and what is in the contract sometimes vary a little bit. I would recommend getting a contract and reading it over. I called easycare about 5 different times and finally got an absolute direct answer that was not what I was hoping....

POST 7Original post

I know that Fidelity has recently covered an RMS replacement for a Boxster owner. http://www.babblers.org/forums/showp...41&postcount=4

POST 8Original post

What is the cost of the powertrain coverage? I went for the platinum coverage... just so that I could drive ti like I stole it

POST 9Original post

So now we need the LN IMS retrofit and a warranty.......great.

POST 10Original post

In my case, my car is only 30k miles and I don't see myself changing the clutch soon...finger's crossed. So instead of paying $1500 to do the retrofit, I'd rather add a couple more and don't have to worry about AOS, RMS, and other gizmos falling apart.

In my case (2004 C4S w/21K miles), the 6/60 Platinum coverage from Fidelity was only about $800 more than a Powertrain only policy. It was a no-brainer as far as I was concerned.
