Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm planning to have mine painted. Is there anything specials I should know besides the obvious(removing the nuts.) TIA

POST 2Original post

It's a pretty straight forward process if you've done it before....... Nothing special I would say.. Only don't scratch them when you're putting them back on. Use plenty of shop rags......and don't rush! -Eli

POST 3Original post

The mounting bolts are stretch bolts and are supposed to be replaced once removed. It might be better to have them powder coated for durability. You can get the decals for the Porsche lettering at http://www.porschedecals.com/ .

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Darren, That's what i plan to do. get them off the car , send them in..... I was wondering about the brake lines connection... Is it a pop-out/pop-in job or a bit more elaborate?

POST 5Original post

You should be able to unbolt the connectors with the simple turn of the wrench. You need NOT disconnect the line that is on the bottom end. You can have them powder coated with that line on.... Make sure they are VERY clean when you take them. The heat will cause the breake fluid to come out during the process...... -Eli

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Eli, Basically unbolt, cap/plug all connections well... Do I need to bleed the brakes after installation? Thanks.

POST 7Original post

During the install: Yes, You don't want any air in there..... I've done mine and they turned out fine. I purchased some brake lines from the local auto parts store so I can have them bleed away from the caliper during the heat process. Your powder coat guy should know this though..... If you can't find a good guy to help you let me know. -Eli
