Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Local gas station to me out in Central Valley CA has 97+ (maybe 100, cant remember) gas. Dealer told me that on my boxster, not to bother. Now i am in my 911, would there be any benifit?

POST 3Original post

To tell you the truth my car runs bad, on real High Octane..........I use 94 and the car seems to like it.

POST 4Original post

Your computer is programmed for 93 octane and any octane gas higher than that will be a waste of money. Doesn't matter if it's a Porsche or a Honda...the computer is programmed to advance a maximum amount based on a specific octane rating.

POST 5Original post

It only makes sense to use higher octane gas if your engine computer is programed for that. Can't imagine it running worse though.

POST 6Original post

93 RON/91 octane.... You can get 100 octane at most 76 stations, especially out in the valley. Not sure where you guys are, but it's rather easy to find it where I am (Manteca) and (Fresno) has it as well. It really doesn't help all that much because our cars compensate for the lower octane fuels we have. (Especially here in Cali where we can't get anything above 92)
