It's really hard to stop modifying these cars, so I will continue to find new "used" parts to add-on

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Shame the carbon GT side trim did not work out on my car as I already have the OEM trim pices and the heat from the mufflers has made the bumper shape itself after the trim pieces so the carbon ones wouldn't fit snug.
I would like to share some new pics of my car w/ the GT3 body kit. Actually I got all these parts from Rennlisters: the front bumper, front lip, side-skirts are from "tedwright", initially this kit also included the rear bumper GT flares, but unfortunately those FRP GT trims cracked during prepping by Stuart bodyshop in Dallas, so they couldn't install them. At first I did not mind and my car looked fine without them. Then few weeks ago, I got lucky and bought a beautiful set of real CF GT Flares from Johannes "Mr. C4" and had them installed yesterday by Stuart. They are surprisingly light-weight compared to the FRP ones. From the pics you may not noticed the CF texture bc my car is dark and they blend-in nicely, but I did not paint those CF pieces, looked too nice to hide behind paint. Anyway, overall I am very happy with the overall face-lift of my little baby
Hope you guys will like it too...
Hi Bao,
Looks fantastic! Shame the carbon GT side trim did not work out on my car as I already have the OEM trim pices and the heat from the mufflers has made the bumper shape itself after the trim pieces so the carbon ones wouldn't fit snug. I have handcarried these pieces from Singapore to Sweden only to find that they did not fit!!!
I'm happy for you since you really appreciate these parts!
Ciao,
Johannes
YES, a wing would be nice, but I am not too crazy about it at this time. I kinda like the clean look w/o the wing. I popped the wing up in the pic just to see how the whole bodykit would look, that's all. Later on I may get the OEM wing for the cab like most Rennlisters have here, need to save up some dough first, Man, Mods are expensive...

Thanks again Johannes for letting me have these beautiful CF parts, they are indeed high quality and fit perfectly on the bumper. It's a pity that you could not use these. Stuart bodyshop did not have any issues with the install and I don't think they have seen many of these around here heh heh. Thanks again Man...
F U, professor (i've always wanted to say that). we get what he's trying to get at.
congrats on the kit. it looks a lot better than stock, but like the others have so stated, in my own words, we look forward to when you complete the kit with a rear wing of some type.
thx for sharing, bud.
Thanks guys for the kind words, I appreciate the support especially from this tough crowd. It's really hard to stop modifying these cars, so I will continue to find new "used" parts to add-on
So far I've been lucky with body parts thanks again to this forum. Looks like I need to find a wing to complete the aerokit package. Cheers...
Take a look at the pics in this thread for a possible wing:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=54027
I believe this will work on a C2 also because it is only on the deck lid which should be the same. I do not know anything about sourcing it though, you may have to contact the OP of that thread.
Thanks Speed, that's the wing I was thinking about too, it's not too big for the Cab. Mashaw also has a bunch of different wings that I could consider as well. But first I need to save up some money...
Botsy,

Thanks Dan for the suggestion but as Dell mentioned your GT3 wing won't fit on my Cab, that's too bad. I will try a smaller wing either OEM or an aftermarket Mashaw wing. Cheers.
I also like the looks of the aero package, but agree the car seems to be missing a wing. OEM Carrera wing w/ front splitter is a good choice, just find a deal better than $3,475 list. Mine was considerably less, thanks to this forum and its great members.
Botsy - your mods look great! I really like the skirts and bumper.
Have you ever thought of doing an "Amberectomy" on your headlights? It doesn't sound too difficult. See the link below.
Amberectomy DIY
Thanks Tim, I have already saved that link before just in case I want to do this "operation" on the headlights. I am a little bit scared of using a hot solder iron to break away the orange plastic inside, where hot fume could potentially fog-up the inside lens. I do like the clear front very much but I haven't muscle up enough strength to do this
Looks sharp, Bao! Midnight blue is such a classy color on the 911. The aerokit is simply a must-have on the 996 narrow-body, as it completely transforms the overall look. I'm in the minority here, but I think the cab looks much better sans the rear wing. BTW, what are you still doing with the black rubber bumperettes???!!!
Thanks Charlie... Regarding the bumperettes, I have been procrastinating on having them painted by Eric, but now looks like I need to do it. You guys are tough
Cheers,
As I mentioned in my original post, I got the front bumper, lip spoiler, side-skirts and rear bumper GT trim from a rennlister here (tedwright). He sold his car before installing these onto his car. Actually the GT flares on my car are carbon fiber I got from "Mr. C4", not the FRP as those cracked during prepping. You could send "tedwright" a PM to inquire about these aftermarket FRP parts if you'd like. Since I was on a limited budget, I did not want to spend too much money on OEM parts from the dealer. Overall I was very happy with the final results, good fit and quality so far. Don't know how long this will last, only time can tell... I try to be extra careful on steep driveways and speed-bumps, because these FRP parts will crack easily under hard impact unlike OEM PUR. Good luck with your car. Cheers,
