Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Today after being on vacation and not driving the car for almost two weeks I used the keyless in the garage and the doors wouldn't unlock.
Leading evidence: 'Use keyless in the garage and the doors wouldn't unlock' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace battery and see what happens' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought my car in Texas and drove it back to Atlanta. After about 6 hours in the car and a random restroom stop I started the car and noticed that the check engine light didn't turn off after start up. I assumed that it would turn off the next time I started the car but hasn't. It's still on. Is this a fairly common issue or something I should be concerned about? Nothing unusual, outside of being pulled over twice on that trip, happened to the car.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Nazz
Airbag lights can be a symptom of a bad ground on the drivers seatbelt buckle. The fix is a new ground wire from the buckle.
This is one of the more common faults. Usually happens when you unbuckle, and then next time you buckle, the computer thinks that the seatbelt is not correctly fastened. BTW this will disable the airbag deployment until it is fixed.
I'm starting to wonder if there are some electrical problems in the car. Today after being on vacation and not driving the car for almost two weeks I used the keyless in the garage and the doors wouldn't unlock. I opened the car manually and was afraid the battery was dead. The car started up fine. I backed it out and hit the unlock button but the doors wouldn't unlock. Now that I think about it, they shouldn't have been locked to start with as I never hit the button. I had to manually open the passengerside door. After that, everything worked fine again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Nazz
As for the remote unlocking not working:
If you do not operate the system for a period of time, the system disables the remote feature to reduce battery drain. When you unlock with the key in the door, it rearms the remote feature. It is all explained in the owners manual. Did your get a manual with your car?
Thanks for the info. That makes much more sense. As for the owners manual, no there wasn't one in the car and I'm having to order one from the dealership. Can you tell I don't have one?
Thanks for the info guys, I feel much better.

have a shop run your control unti number, the last digit in the part number should end in "02" and for the seat belt buckles..the part # lateset version ends in "09", i've been replacing them as needed and adding a ground directly from the seat belt buckle ground wires, straight to the control unit hold down nuts and this is workin so far (longest car has been gone 7 months)
Eric, did I read it right in the link you provided that the airbag light fix would be covered by Porsche for all vehicles in or out of warranty? Mine just came on along with the ABS light over the weekend at 38k miles. I had thought it might've been caused by a near-dead battery since the car turned over rather weakly when I cranked the ignition. Plus the voltmeter gauge had the needle right at the bottom while the engine was on and during the drive. Hopefully it's not an electrical fault. I'll replace the battery and see what happens. Thanks for the link!
