Any time I start to push my car a bit the coolant light starts to blink. I have filled two weeks ago, and know it�s happening again. Temperature here is around 68 � F. I have a C 2 996 99. Any suggestions? What should I do? Tks WOT

Have you checked the coolant overflow tank? They are prone leaks. Mine started leaking at 26,000 miles and, from what I have read, this is a common occurence.

Cracked coolant tank is another common problem with the '99 996. Cost is covered under most extended warranty plans, if not cost is around $350-$400. check other postings on discussions of this common problem.

Had the same problem with my 1999 C2 always loosing coolent. Changed the tank and cap now it's perfect cost about $400.00. Heard they develope small hair line cracks in the plastic tank. Or you could try a new cap first. Good Luck

Not covered by Porsche's own certified warranty - they must know something . The tank can be found for $250 and it's an easy DIY. A dealer will charge about $500 to replace it.

Well, they are smart... Pretty expensive for a little tank made of plastic. If I need to replaced it, where would be the best place to buy these type of parts in the US? Any suggestions? thanks for the input! WOT

My MY00CAB was 6 weeks out of warrany AND has the certified extended warranty and they said it was not covered. Cost me $450 in labor and they covered the parts from goodwill (how nice of them). Not realy a simple DIY though since the engine has to be lowered a tad which is why the 4 hrs of labor.
