i was looking at an 03 c4s for sale and the seller said that the seats were replaced by porsche under factory warranty due to faulty backs.

No, I have an '03 C4S and have not received a recall notice. My C4S was built toward the end of the production year. I bought it in July '03 and it had just arrived at the dealership from the factory a week earlier (only two months or so before the '04s arrived). So it could have been corrected before my car was built.

If you do a search you'll find some info on this in the last two months. Apparently, the seatback frames were not made strong enough and would possibly collapse in an accident.

I have an '03 C4S which recently had the seats replaced. Why not just call your dealer and give them your VIN - I am sure they would be able to tell you whether your seats need replacing. Barry
