I did...its so you can get the battery posts in the rights spots without having to replace the OEM battery cables....

I am thinking about replacing my battery with an Optima red top. I did a search and some people have made a special holder for the battery but I can't find details on how to make one. What do I need and what does it look like? Is there a one Optima that fits better than others?

Andy - I just put in a Red Top last month and you do not need to make a new tray. All I did was take the existing tray and center the Optima battery on it (so you can still have access to the holes to mount the tray in the car) - and then drilled new holes in the existing tray. Then get some bolts from the harware store and secure the battery to the tray via the bolts. When you get the Red Top you'll see what I'm talking about as there are already mounting holes at the base of the battery. Hope this helps...Will

Whoops...its a 34R not a 48R....the R again just means reverse posts....
