Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The one I used for my "avitar" ( a word I NEVER heard of before this forum) was a reduced size pic from my pictures file.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think part of the trouble I've been having is my pics were all too high a resolution originally. The one I used for my "avitar" ( a word I NEVER heard of before this forum) was a reduced size pic from my pictures file. Whenever I used it for an attached pic it just came out small again. I guess now I am going to have to find out how to take pics that have a resolution that works here or simply decide sharing pics here is not worth just taking a bunch of crappy resolution photo's. Seems like a tough site to post a pic on to me. Never had this much trouble before on Audiworld or emailing friends.
There is a size limit (in megabytes) on attachments. However, you could always upload your hi-resolution photos to a free photo sharing website and link to it. Just keep in mind that not everyone is on a high-speed connection so I would still limit the size of the photos to 600x800 and under 1MB -- if people like your pictures they will ask for a higher resolution copy.
P.S. The correct spelling is "avatar" not "avitar" -- probably why you hadn't heard of avitar before.
You need some software (Photoshop or something similar) to reduce the size of your original image file for posting online.
You should continue shooting large original files for max quality.
In your image software, set the image resolution to 72 dpi (may be that already - 72 dpi is standard screen resolution)
Then set the image size in pixels to scale it for posting on this forum - or in Email etc etc
This is a 900x600 pixel image at 72 dpi
Then save as a medium quality JPEG to reduce file size still further (JPEG is image compression)
Always keep the original large file on your hard drive or CD/DVD for use another time.
Chris.
Thanks for the info. Never used photoshop. Guess I need to to post pics, maybe someday when I have more time. To the guy asking about wheels they are the stock 5 spoke 18's for 2003.
Even the lite version of Photoshop will do it - you just need some basic image editing software that allows you to scale your digial images and save in a format that reduces file size.
Free software like iPhoto on a Mac would do it for you too - not sure which platform you are on?
Most forums like to limit image size to avoid their servers being filled up, and avoid their users waiting ages for large image files to download when reading threads.
Most photographers like their large files for best print quality, so the software I'm talking about just allows you to scale copies accordingly for web viewing or Email.
You probably got some free software with your camera that would do the trick - or check out
