Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
With the right tires my car will drive exceptionally well in any conditions, but its the morons running around with worn out summer tires in the winter time that I fear plowing into the side of me.
Leading evidence: 'Run around' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run around' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys, I live in West Michigan and we get about 70" of snow annually. I've been lurking around here for the last month or so and am hoping to get my first 911 sometime in the near future. I am looking to pick up a 99-01 in the 35-40k range and have had no problem finding plenty of C2's and a few C4's. Assuming winter tires for both could I get away with a C2? A heavy snow around here is usually between 6 to 8 inches but once in a while we will get 10 or more but that is rare. I currently drive a rear wheel drive E320 Benz with all season tires and don't have any problems but the thing weighs as much as a Sherman tank. Thanks in advance.
This topic has been discussed a ton here so doing a search will reveal tons of threads with sage advice on the subject. FWIW, either car with snow tires will be fine. The problem isn't traction so much as ground clearance. Our cars kinda sit low to the ground, you know? So, a really bad snowstorm will sideline more as a result of the snowplow effect than the lack of traction effect.
my biggest concern re: driving my porsche in the snow, is not how capable it is, but how capable are the people around me. With the right tires my car will drive exceptionally well in any conditions, but its the morons running around with worn out summer tires in the winter time that I fear plowing into the side of me. Man do p-cars plumet in value when they have been hit....ouch.

I've been driveing my 2001 and my 2004 in all kinds of heavy snow. Snow tires a must, and just be aware of what's going on around you. I don't want anyone plowing into me no matter what I'm driving.
I drove my '02 C2 with PSM all winter in Toronto without snows. It was a little treacherous without snows, but with snows I expect it to be awesome next year.
My dad used to drive the whole family up to a cabin in northern Ontario every Christmas in a giant rear wheel drive Cadillac with bias-ply summer tires. No problem - he used to say snow tires were for women and children. Nobody seemed to need a 4X4, or all-season tires, or ice-rated tires, or traction control, or stability control, or yaw control. Sheesh! A modern C2 driven conservatively and with respect and attention is all you need.
BTW, there are lots of C4 guys here who love their cars, and they are a fabulous car. But a C4 is a very different animal from a C2. You should drive both and buy the one you like most - don't make your choice based on 10 or 12 bad days a year.
