Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Soon I will be listing my car for sale on Autotrader. As previously posted, I just had it detailed and the finish looks amazing - check pics below. I have also attached a pic of my new ride. Anyway, specs are: 1999 C4 cabrio 54000 miles triple black chrome twists with colored center caps PSM Litronic Lights aluminum gauge rings aluminun shifter and hand brake full leather pkg supple leather seats embossed head rests some stone chips and a couple of door dings daily driver rebuilt motor Jan 2006 Interior is a 9 out of 10 tires have about 50% tread remaining Overall looks great. What do you guys think is a realistic price? I do not want to price it too high and play games for 3 months. I would rather just price it right and sell it. New ride is 2003 Range Rover HSE - all black also. Thanks for your help.

POST 2Original post

Curious as to why a car with 54000 mile on it has a rebuilt motor...?

POST 3Original post

$41,500 as a private sale - you might get more if you get the paint and dings sorted out by a pro shop - try Spectrum Collision in Irvine. Also, try listing on Craigslist first, before wasting your $$$ on Autotrader. There's an OC list and an LA list - you can only advertise in one at a time I believe. And welcome to the LR club. Be preapred for oil spots on the garage floor from the Range Rover from now on - it it isn't leaking oil, it's run dry.............. Chris. 03 C2 and 02 Discovery SE7

POST 4Original post

Maybe RMS failure replacement or porous block or sliped cylinder linings.. 3 common engine replacement scenarios on all C2/C4/Boxsters Chris.

POST 5Original post

Hey nice rover have the exact same (03, black) are those chrome rims on the rover?

POST 6Original post

oh my ... the direct picture of the door panel is simply amazing. door looks like a bloody mirror!

POST 7Original post

41500 is not realistic whatsoever. 35k-39k is more likely.

POST 8Original post

Looks great, Joe...good luck with the sale! Join us in p-car land again sometime.

POST 9Original post

i think 41,000 is fair - give or take 3 g's....i noticed your car had some nice options.

POST 10Original post

And by the way, your car looks great. I just sold a 99 with 19k miles (not as nicely optioned as yours) for 37k ish. so given that you have the c4, but 30k more miles, and new tires needed soon, the price range I gave is what I thought was fair. But try to get as much as you can. The mkt will tell you what it's worth soon enough.

POST 11Original post

Don't forget he's in SoCal - sun, sand and surf Higher prices here, especially as summer arrives. And it's the KBB price, not including all o fthe extras on the car. Chris.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback guys. The pic of the door looks amazing doesn't it? I cannot believe how they brought the paint back. It was really oxdized. JERLER - If you don't remember my motor stories, you must be new (oh I see now you have 31 posts). Anyway, it was a cracked cylinder #1. All of this while it was sitting in my garage for 4 days after driving home 3 miles. Don't get me started again! In the end that's how I ended up with the Rover instead of the Cayenne S I was looking at. Yes, those are chrome rims on the Rover. I got them (exchange) from LA Wheel & Tire in Van Nuys. They are super nice guys and the price was fair I thought - around $600. Thanks for the pricing feedback . I know that the market will ultimately determing what it is "worth" but I thought i would get a starting point. The bitch of it is I only paid $42K for it 3 years ago. If it haden't been for the motor, my cost of ownership would have been really low for 2 years. Thanks for the feedback.
