That along with one or two fuel lines and brake lines that were wearing and the mechanic felt obliged to replace..ran me a pretty penny.

Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This really sucks, my car is in for service they approved the bill a month ago, parts came in and dealer just fixed it, now they call stating they can't get a hold of the company.
FYI to any of you that have this company for extended warranty coverage, they are currently be liquidated by the State of Hawaii. Not sure what action I have, Im going to call AMEX, but that charge was from 18 months ago. Will see if the Platinum comes through.

Holy crap! I almost purchased an extended warranty from them last year. They kept making their sales pitch via emails and phone calls, but I finally decided to pass (wisely, as it turns out). Hope Amex comes through for you.
Check with the the Insurance Commisioner's office. If they were licensed in the state that you are in, then there is usually an insurance fund that all insurance companies pay into to cover claims on insolvent insurance companies. It may take you a while to recover, but they should cover you. However, if they were not licensed in your state, you are probably out of luck.
I will do that...
Update, AMEX was good enough to open a claim even though it had been nearly 3 years. I spoke to a supervisor and she was symathetic to my issue. Although Im not counting on getting anything back from AMEX I will at least put up a fight. FYI my bill at the dealer was $1100

Just scrolling through posts and saw this one. Man I am sorry for you. I had them too; their top tier warranty too up until this past summer when I had to put a clutch in my car and had a cracked coolant recovery tank that had to be replaced. That along with one or two fuel lines and brake lines that were wearing and the mechanic felt obliged to replace..ran me a pretty penny. 1Sourceautowarranty.com wouldn't cover ANY of it...all kinds of clauses and non-coverages in the agreement SO I asked them to cancel my policy on the spot and refund my prorated premium. That they did after I emailed them about 4 times after sending the paperwork back that they sent me and finally I had to call them about 2-3 more times but I ended up getting about $2k back which I promptly put in a short term CD at 5.5% interest. Felt it would be around and of use to my p-car alot longer than that dayum company. WOW...glad I did that too back in July 05. I checked the site now and it doesn't even show up and says "this webpage cannot be found"
Good luck in getting your car fixed and sorry about the loss of $$ and coverage to you and the rest of my fellow owners who fell for their sales pitches like I did.
I talked to the California Insurance Commissioners office and they said I needed to contact the state of Hawaii (which is the where the legal actions are taking place). I went to the Hawaii site and filed a claim. They sent me an email response a couple days later and saying I am now on their list of "potential claimants".
The latest info can be found at:

Yea very sad.. I've received a email back from Hawaii State.. here it is..
In the meantime, could you please provide us with your mailing address,
warranty contract number, and claim number (if available)? The information
will help expedite the verification and processing of your claim with the
Court.
Your name and contact information will be added to the database of
potential claimants against the estate, and the Liquidator will be in
contact with you with more specific details about the disposition of your
claim (including what you may need to do), as soon as the Court determines
and approves of the claims filing and administration process.
With respect to having your car repairs covered under the 1SourceAuto
warranty contract, please be advised that any and all claims against the
warranty contract and/or warranty company cannot be approved or paid by
the estate at this time - the amount of actual payment of your claim will be
determined by the Court once it ascertains all claimants and available
assets. Please preserve your receipts (or other evidence) that you paid
for covered repair costs, as it is more than likely that it will be
required to substantiate your claim with the Court.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Not surprised in the least. I got one when I had my '99. WarrantyGold seemed like the best option at that time, and even the fine print was clean as a whistle.
Months later, at claims time, the ugly head reared itself. WG put claims funds at a 3rd party, which was reinsured at yet another company. That company went belly up and was headquartered in the Cayman Islands (hmmmm....not going to draw any conclusions to the latest Porsche model here)....
Anyway, it was all finger-pointing for nearly 4 months, while I had 5k in claims outstanding that I had to pay out of pocket.
I referred several customers at the get-go because the policy looked good and was a good buy, and that pissed me off later since the company was a bunch of thieves.
The big dawgs in the Caymans absconded with the cash ($25 mil I believe) and there was no way the US operations could get the money back.
Been in litigation at least 3 long years, and I'm still listed as a claimant with my 5k in claims, but we'll never see the money after the lawyers get what's coming, if anything. I did get a prorated refund of my premium back from my personal banker and Visa though.
These companies are mostly pyramids....they take your money to fund other's claims, and so on, until it ends. Sucks.
CPO would be the only thing I'd ever do in the future, if at all.
Lesson learned.
Read it and weep:

I agree with Eric. The best option for me after I had my problems covering what seemed to be a simple claim from 1stsourcewarranty was to cancel and request my portated premium back ASAP. Fortunately it looks like I was one of the last out before the house fell in on them but like Eric says I've learned the CPO only lesson for me from a vehicle out of warranty that I am purchasing. Now if I already had a vehicle under CPO and it expired then that's another story cause at least I could prove to PNA and PAG that I'd had coverage and work done as requested and on schedule.
