Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I will not use the screen all the time, just on long trips when I use the Nav and when I want to distract the wife from how fast I am going with a movie.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone out there with an aftermarket DVD/NAV system. I am not looking to do a full stereo upgrade, looking to upgrade the head unit only. I want something that will play DVD's as well as offer Nav. The two systems I am looking at are the Kenwood system - but needs a seperate Nav unit or the Pioneer AVIC-N2 which is one unit. I also want to be able to control my Ipod. I want something that will sit flush with the dash and not stick out too much. Any opinions would be appreciated.

POST 2Original post

For double din in dash (not flip up screen), you've got Kenwood and Eclipse. Eclipse is all in one w a cd and dvd drive built into the HU. Kenwood has external drives. I'm not sure if either controls Ipod but they should both has some aux input at least. Both also offer additional bluetooth capability with added modules. Eclipse is the same unit used in Lexus I've heard.

POST 3Original post

I have the Kenwood PNAV-815 in my C4S. I love it. I have NAV, Sirius, and DVD. I have a seperate Bluetooth unit for my phone. I find it much better than OEM because you can enter NAV destinations while moving, by the passenger of course.

POST 4Original post

MY pioneer system does all of what your looking for , but it is 2 units, I wanted a double din to get rid od the cd holder

POST 5Original post

I am putting the Kenwood 815 in my C2 within the next month or so when I find a good installer. It does have DVD, NAV, MP3 and you can add Sat Radioi and ipod controls as well with seperate adapter cables you purchase. The Nav brain is seperate from the Head unit and does require someplace to mount it but it isn't bigger than a small cd player/changer that you'd carry by hand on an airplane for the most part. Will post pics when mine is done. I hear the Kenwood double din unit is nice too but would require some re-arranging of your center stack which isn't too hard from what I hear. Pioneer's unit is very nice too.

POST 6Original post

the eclipse has sirius sat radio as an option, the "back-up" camera, cd, dvd, and nav. it is essentially the same unit that is in the lexus (lexi?). also, it does have a special auxilliary in adapter that allows you to do ipod, or whatever (including video) I have it- it looks nice. the dvd picture is amazing (imo) customer support is poor. sound is excellent. user interface is fantastic.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really want a single DIN unit with a fold out panel. I will not use the screen all the time, just on long trips when I use the Nav and when I want to distract the wife from how fast I am going with a movie. The two choices I have narrowed my selection to are the Kenwood unit (KVT-915DVD) or the Pioneer unit (AVIC-N2). The Kenwood unit requires two units, the Pionee only one so that is the one I am leaning towards.

POST 8Original post

i have heard very good things about the single din pioneer i dont think you are wrong going with either good luck

POST 9Original post

I have the H/K Traffic Pro. This is basically the standard Becker cdr-220 w/ Nav capabilities. No full screen but a simple install and complete factory look.

POST 10Original post

Personally, i really like the Pioneer AVIC-D1. Double Din system and a couple people have installed it on their 996s. Looks VERY flush with the overall "look" of the car.
