Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'same scenario' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'same scenario' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check him out' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Conversely, maybe something changed with his finances and he has decided to sell, but doesn't want to seem vulnerable in the negotiating phase, so he's using the Turbo story to cover.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know this may seem fishy but my friend is looking for a car and stumbled on one but the seller just bought the car maybe 2 months ago and states that he enjoyed the car so much that he is moving to a turbo... Of course a PPI will be done. Before current owner, the car was 1 owner car and fully maintained. All records are present. Its a nice car though but to buy and sell so quick? He is not a dealer as I have checked him out. What do you guys think? Something smell fishy?
When I bought my car it was the same scenario. The previous owner had the car for 9 months-1 year or so and then the "perfect" car popped up so he unloaded the C4S. My car is damn near perfect and I've had virtually no issues with it the last 6 months (besides my water pump starting to leak earlier this week...).
Not really. I think that is fair that he wants to go for a turbo. Has he actually seen one he is intersted in? If so then this only adds to his simply wanting to go higher in the 911 world. I wouldn't be too worried plus if he has all records and the car is in excellant shape, plus the price is right, then I would go for it.
If PPI checks out and nothing seems out of ordinary, I would move forward with deal if the #'s are right. A few thoughts here -- he may have gotten a hell of a deal on it and is deciding to take his profit after he's had his fun with the car. Conversely, maybe something changed with his finances and he has decided to sell, but doesn't want to seem vulnerable in the negotiating phase, so he's using the Turbo story to cover. Or...maybe he really just wants a Turbo.
I am in the market for a turbo as well. Have been looking but have not found the right deal. When I do, well, goodbye Red Sled. I made that decision shortly after buying my 996. So I could very well have been in the same position as your would be seller.
Circumstances may be fishy. Your gut may tell you something. However,a good PPI and due diligence trumps all that.
