Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just replaced the parking brake switch on my 99 cab. The other day I couldn't get my top to go up. I should have replaced it when I put in the B&M SS. The switch has been intermittent for a couple of years but with enough jiggling I always got it to light up until the other day. Taking out the ash trash and messing with the switch with a screw driver got it working again but I decided to just replace it. It was only $5.25 at the dealer. Upon close inspection of the old switch I found it to just have a film or slight oxidation on the contact. I think that they don't run enough current thru the switch to break down any film. If it happens again I will redesign the whole circuit.

POST 2Original post

Does anyone have instructions on how to access the parking brake switch? I need to spray some contact cleaner....photos / pics would be great :-)
