Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Run 19s' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run 19s' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have the opportunity to purchase an 02 Targa Tip with 56k for $24K. It is black/black with an original MSRP of $95k. It has a pretty good detailed history from 02 - 07 (Pacific Porsche sold and serviced) and then it gets muddy from then on. It went to Canada where a guy just traded it to us (Colorado). He put some huge 19" wheels on it that I'm not completely sold on but we'll see. I will have a PPI performed tomorrow but it idles dead flat and pulls strong to 125. Top works great and is overall tight as a drum.
My question is do you think it is a good buy for a year or so of driving as there are so few Targas out there?
I will do the 60k service and wonder what to expect for cost on that. I say a year or so but the pull is addictive even for a normally aspirated! Thanks in advance!
I love the look of 996 targas. The price seems really solid.
19 wheels on a 996 are kind of a no no. You will find folks who debate this but Porsche didn't sell the 996 with 19s on it. 17s or 18s were the "big" sizes of the day.
Get a comprehensive PPI and enjoy! 60K service includes spark plugs I believe.
Go to an indy for the 60k service and save yourself some money. Or if you have the skills, do it yourself.
Good Luck.
Sounds like a good price. For a comparison, I paid $34 for my targa in November. 13k miles, CPO, Bose, Xenons, heated sport seats, 18" lightweight carreras, & rocker panel flares. Many will say I overpaid for it, but I really wanted the CPO for my first p-car. Plus the paint and interior were like new with so few miles which was important to me. Plus is had all maintenance records from day 1.
At first I really didn't love the targa, but have grown to love it. Huge opening and easy access to the rear cargo area due to the hatch.
I haven't ridden in or driven a Targa, but the price seems good for an 02'. If the PPI doesn't highlight any big negatives and you like the way it drives....DO IT! GL. Do a search on 60k service to see what is included, maybe you can work that into your final deal. Let us know what happens.
