Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Before I started out I checked the pressure again and its at 35 normally but when it does a little up and down between 30 and 35.
Leading evidence: 'Check pressure again and its at 35 normally' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'only way i'll satisfy myself' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check online' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

My problem is I haven't done a vacume it out then refill I guess which is probably the only way I'll satisfy myself.

Now i think I'll check online to see if anything bad ever came of the stuff.

A friend has the vacume and toal system so I'll check with him later on if it turns into evacuating the system....I hope not.

I might of had a low system but by the guage the pressure never really changed much on the low pressure side.

I'm thinking the level was so low the and the quantity of the system so high that the system wasn't changing pressure much do to those facts of not being able to pressurize much if there isn't much refrigerant to presurize.

I might be changing refrigerant out just for giggles since I've never busted open a full BBQ grill style can of the stuff that's supposed to be colder than 134a.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Couldn't find info doing a search the forum or either mauals. Anybody know the quantity of refrigerant. I might of had a low system but by the guage the pressure never really changed much on the low pressure side. It was alway reading good but I wanted to make sure it was good then it went and didn't change. Sure is a big system going all over the place. I might be changing refrigerant out just for giggles since I've never busted open a full BBQ grill style can of the stuff that's supposed to be colder than 134a.
I have the quantity of refrigerant for a Boxster AC. I might have the same info for a 996. I'll look.
Generally if the system is low the system is hooked up to a machine that evacuates the system, pressure tests it, then refills the system with the proper amount of refrigerant and compressor lube oil.
Just dumping in some refrig. could have the system overfilled.
Not clear from your post but under no circumstances should you attempt to refill the system with a different type of refrigerant. AFAIK, they are not interchangeable and system designed for one is very likely, almost certainly, incompatible with any other.
Sincerely,
Macster.
Unless you have a proper guage set you should be careful just adding refrigerant. The low (suction) side presssure probably won't change too much but the high side may get into uncharted territory. You may blow one of the hose to tube connections apart. Ask me how I know this? I added some refrigerant to one of my Audi's to top up the system. I was in a hurry and didn't connect the high side gauge. I went on a trip and during the heat of the day one of the swaged connections seperated - huge bang and huge cloud of evaporating R-12. It was quite entertaining.
Oh, and don't mix refrigerants!!
R-12 uh oh. If porsche was using r-12 in the 99 model I might be in trouble. I did look for the smooth crimp signature on hoses which is the sign of r-12 on the old cars but there was no hoses in the access area. Just aluminum tubing with high and low ports. The low side is where I was getting my only readings. I'm thinking the level was so low the and the quantity of the system so high that the system wasn't changing pressure much do to those facts of not being able to pressurize much if there isn't much refrigerant to presurize. I hope so at least. A friend has the vacume and toal system so I'll check with him later on if it turns into evacuating the system....I hope not.
My comment on the R-12 was from a while back. I'm sure it is R-134A. I have heard issues with some of the substitutes that are being sold.
Didn't mean to mislead you.
Mislead me? Scared the wits out of me more like it. I'll ask Ivangene for a more proper discription
Just got back from a cruise bouncing around the island on the hwy. Before I started out I checked the pressure again and its at 35 normally but when it does a little up and down between 30 and 35. I'm figuring it's due to low fluid level where the pump gets off and on supplies of juice. Little confusing with the pressure already up to 30 or 35. I'm convinced it was low. My problem is I haven't done a vacume it out then refill I guess which is probably the only way I'll satisfy myself.
Heck I did the online refrigeration certification hehehe a long time ago. I know everyyyyyythinggggg hehehe. What a joke. Got me the certification so I could pick up the speacial blend of stuff called R-414b. Now i think I'll check online to see if anything bad ever came of the stuff.
