Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My dealer offered $10k off right after the test drive on a 996 C2 in Nov.
Leading evidence: 'Test drive' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test drive' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just got back from my local dealer. He has two '04 C4S's in stock. He is offering quite a discount from sticker. One has a sticker of $89+K with a discounted price of approx $81K. The other has a sticker of $93+K with a discounted price of approx $82K. Both cars are brand new (not demonstrators).
Is there some factory to dealer incentive on these remaining '04's?
My dealer offered $10k off right after the test drive on a 996 C2 in Nov. I think $10k on a C4S can be talked down some more. Selection of options and colors is limited though so that's a downside besides faster depreciation being a "1 yr old" model.
With the only exception that the C4S' are still in demand because Porsche hasn't released the AWD version of the 997... so maybe the discount wouldn't be as steep as a 996 C2, but you should still be getting a good discount on a 2004.

The 06's will be out soon (4-5 months). If indeed PCNA is offering incentives, e.g. 10-15K, I would be looking for a MAJOR discount on any 04 - I'm talking 15-20K. Maybe the C4S's still command a premium over C2's, but as new 997 models roll out, even C4S's will be taking a big depreciation hit over the next few years.
As of a week or two ago, Porsche was not offering any "trunk" money to the dealers YET....However, two dealers with whom I have a long relationship were willing to sell any 996 at cost and 986s well below their cost.....Both said the limited availability of 997s was planned by Porsche.
Last year this time, one of the dealers offered me a new '03 996, absolutely perfectly equipped, for $62,000 with a MSRP north of $82,000.....I passed but I know PCNA was eating $5,000 of the discount.....
The intial depreciation hit is a killer on 996s....thus the '02 GR Cab with Full Natural Brown Leather, hardtop, PSM, new Mich. P/Ss etc, etc with a MSRP of $95,000 for $61,000 and certified with 38 months of warranty remaining....18k miles and perfect condition....nice daily driver for my new bride
The above referenced was not a steal but a fair deal to both Parties...my 95 cab. was due for a clutch and the chain belt cover was leaking a fair amount....
Hope this helps
