Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

43 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I have been wanting to own a 996 C4S cab for some time and have been looking around. I guess this financial meltdown pushed me to make the move. Hell, if my moneys going to go down, it might as well be in a fun depreciating asset that I get enjoyment for my lost value! So, I just bought a 2004 C4S cab in Polar Silver with black leather interior with the aluminum look package. I pick her up on Saturday. Here are the photos....and while I at it, can you guys recommend a great kit that I can buy online to replace the pumpkins? Tom Newtown, CT

POST 4Original post

Great color. Nice looking car, congratulations!

POST 8Original post

really good looking set up, tough looking P-car with a soft side... great color too!! I bought mine on ebay, they are OK, I would wait till you find genuine Porsche. ALSO get the silver bulbs from http://xenonmods.com/newporschedecal.htm this will make the most of the de-amber project. I bet you are having fun. Dont worry about the repeated trips to the garage for no reason and the constant staring at the car. That is normal. Ed

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the great compliments. I saw Bumperplugs was a sponsor, so I just bought thier set of sidemarker clear lenses and then bought the bulbs from xenonmods....thanks!

POST 22Original post

Welcome! Tim, dude, they're making you obsolete - all posting pics and leaving no room for you to give a beating - where's the fun in life!?!

I know... I KNOW!!! First, no Porsche.... now, no Newbies to bash!!! There is absolutely no joy left in my life!

Tim, Im afraid one day you wont be with us anymore.... and find you at the TT section. Im sure you'll be back in a p-car in no time... till then keep an eye out for them newbies!

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 5814377

Congrats on your new 4S cab - she's a beaut. Drive it like you stole it - sort of like I do. Now, Tim you don't have to waste your time bashing the newbies, when you have me to kick around.

POST 27Original post

Quotes source post: 5814623

Phil, time to wake up and smell the coffee - we all know that driving back and forth in your driveway doesn't qualify as "drive lit like you stole it" - if it did, then you'd be doing a lot of time behind bars.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 5814623

<careful> awe Phil, that was DRIVE it like you stole it, not HIDE it like its stolen!

POST 29Original post

Once again, truer words were never spoken!

POST 30Original post

Quotes source post: 5814623

That's true, but you haven't thrown out any fodder lately.... nothing like the "dashboard symbol..." or the "sulfated battery." The one I am really waiting for from you is...."have to buy new tires, they rotted off the car!" Man, I am going to have fun with that one! < Tim giggles like a school girl with anticipated excitement! >

POST 31Original post

Congrats on your purchase! As you can see from my avatar, you bought it just in time to whip leaves off the road as you negociate some"tight" curves! Enjoy! Pete

Red - if I do get another Porsche, it will be a 997. I don't think I need a TT, unless, of course, I win the lottery and money becomes ridiculously abundant. Then I'll have a 997 S, a 997 TT, a 997 GT3 and maybe a CGT.... and NO, I will NOT feel guilty about owning all of them at the same time! <Tim wakes up from his wet dream!>

POST 33Original post

Tim, Nobody "NEEDS" a TT, but I sure want one!!

POST 36Original post

looks awesome..great fun car. enjoy for many years to come and in good health.

POST 37Original post

I may be a bit biased, but I'm pretty sure that the 996 C4S is the best 996 every produced! Congrats on your new sled. Just wait till you see how that pup does in the snow! I drive mine year round...have a winter setup, the car is amazing in the powder. Drive it safe (and fast when it's safe ) J

POST 38Original post

Quotes source post: 5819104

C4S IS the BEST 996 EVER produced!! ...well, except for the GT3, Turbo and GT2!!!!

POST 39 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow....now I'm totally pumped beyond belief to get in the seat on Saturday! This will be a year round car, so snow tires/rims will be on the list soon. Bumperplugs already has shipped the clear sidemarkers and bulbs so that will be done on Saturday. Then that afternoon, I also plan on the DYI to remove the cutout on the PSE. The only other items on the drawing board right now are body colored rear bumperette covers and most likely a Kenwood DNX8120 with ipod, bluetooth, nav, etc.....

POST 41Original post

You'll love it. As far as the TT's, nothing beats them.

POST 42Original post

Congrats!!! Perhaps I'll see you around area, I'm just across the border.
