Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need some advice as to what $40k in this market buys me. I have almost new Lexus IS but I really miss stick and engine's sounds. I have been searching for a daily driver including Boston's winter. I really like 993s but it is impossible to find a good looking C4 coupe. Recently I drove 03' 996 C4S and I think I am going get it. I figure with some patience I can get Blue/White/Silver one with about 30-40k mi. It plows the snow (with a good rubber) like tank. It looks really really nice with wide body. What do you guys think? What about C4S's values in 02-03? I know 993s keep values well but I don't want spend weeks for valves adjustments and pay $3k. Yes, engine sounds great but I can adjust with FabSpeed my future C4S. I know I can get 01-02 C4s on lower $30 but I like wide body.

POST 2Original post

I was looking at 996 early this year and ended up finding a good 993. But if you decide on 996, I think the 996C4S is best bang for the buck and looks great. You can plow snow with a 996turbo too if you want boost

POST 3Original post

993 is a nice car but the youngest one is now over 10 years old. 996 is better in every way except engine sound and maybe looks. You should be able to find what you want in your price range.

POST 4Original post

What can you get for 40K in this market? A really nice C4S (996), lucky you. Wait for the color / options / etc. that you are looking for because for that money you will find it.
