Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm close to doing a deal on a CPO 997. 20K mileage, manual, no Sport Chrono.
Appears to be in as new condition. The dealer's asking $52,995. How negotiable are the dealers? I've never bought a car through the dealer system.
What's a good target price? I would think with the economy, that people can't be busting down the doors for a new or used Porsche.
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a good deal! There are only 5 '05 911 on cars.com with the same/lower price than $53k under 30k miles. I guess you might get him down by another $500-$1,000 but not much more than that.
$12000 off (over 10 to choose from!).
Biggest markup is on used cars. Roughly figure dealer has trade-in (or less, probably less) in car and then figure out what his asking price is over that.
Remember, price not fact, only an opinion. And there is always another car.
Sincerely,
Macster.
Dealer prices, especially on used cars (as Macster mentions) are very negotiable. The longer they've had the car, the more flexible they will be. And towards the end of the month, as they try to make quotas, the more flexible they will be. And the closer we get to winter, when sports cars don't sell as well, the more flexible they will be. And the tanking stock market isn't helping them either, and with new 997s selling at substantial discounts, you are really in the catbird's seat.
Check prices for comparable cars for sale (remembering that these are asking prices). Check eBay. Check NADA, KBB, etc. (although they are typically inflated prices). CPO is usually worth about $2K.
I don't know what year the car is, colors, options, etc. so I can't give you my opinion on the price.
HTH,
Michael
