I started with 5mm's in the front, 15mm in the rear, and immediately changed the fronts to 14mm.

my understanding is that Porsche used these 5mm spacers on the Mk1 GT3 simply to clear the bigger rotors; not for performance reasons.

Suggestion
When I looked in November, HR's were on backorder, also to use their lugs you have to have a machine shop remove the collars from your stock lug bolts, least that's what they told me.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

WTF is that??
I got the complete PORSCHE kit with (4) 5MM spacers and all new lugs (longer to accomodate the spacers) as well as a complete set of wheel locks all for $250 from Sunset Porsche. They are a board sponsor over at Renntech.org and offer dealer cost +15%. Not a bad deal at all if you want the tequipment stuff.
If you are interested, the kit part number is 000 044 500 09
Why spend that much? The H&R spacers are the correct hub-centric set and if you get the extended wheel lug bolts, my total was $205 shipped. And I got 14mm for the rears!
BTW - I don't need the rears anymore. So if someone would like them (with extended lugs) give me a buzz and I'll make it worth your while.

That's a good deal on the p spacers/bolts, I couldn't get that deal a few months ago, their best was 375$.
Carnewal has some descent prices but with the dollar in the toilet against the Euro, it just makes that stuff that much more expensive not to mention to bill you get form FedEx for the customs charge and their handling charge to pay duty for you.
Just found my reciept for the entire kit (the one pictured above) that I bought form Sunset:
One caveat....sorry but I forgot to add the 15% to the $250 cost since there were several items on my order.
List $390
Dealer Cost $253
Your cost: $290
I am too interested in this...as i am interested in any mod
.... Pics would be awsome if some one can post them, maybe can do a group buy, i have a source ..i can check??
Ok Will do a group bye if i can get a list of what ppl want, spacers bolts ect.ect......Should we have a cut off date , so i can get finalized pricing??
I basically want what the Porsche kit offers. (4) 5mm spacers, 16 lug bolts and 4 locking lug bolts. And if I could get them lug bolts and locking lugs bolts in chrome, that would be cool too.
But I'm only buying from the states as I'm not going to pay duty, taxes or whatever. It's not worth it IMO.
I didn't know there was a Porsche kit when I initially posted my question asking about the spacers and lugs. Now that I know there's a kit, I want to see about a group buy as it will be cheaper.
My point is... why buy out of the country if it's going to cost me more or be more of a PITA than simply calling someone state side. If you can get it cheaper than what I can pay for it here... by all means do it.
I recently upgraded to some 19" Champion wheels, so I now have a set of H&R 14mm's for the front and 15mm's for the rear, complete with longer lug bolts for sale if anyone is interested. You do not need to go to a machine shop to remove the collars... twist a large flat head screwdriver between the lug head and the collar, and they will pop right off.
I wouldn't waste your time with the 5mm spacers if your are doing this mod for looks. I started with 5mm's in the front, 15mm in the rear, and immediately changed the fronts to 14mm. The 14/15 or 15/15 combo will fill out the wheel well VERY nicely.
Let me know if anyone is interested in my set.
15 is good.
Just my opin
but 5mm is about 3/16's of an inch........waste of time........here's example of 17 rear, 7 front on lowered suspension (as a point of ref).
I am running H&R springs w/ OEM sport shocks. NO rubbing issues at all. I tried 5mm's in the front before I went to 14mm.
Don't waste your time with the 5mm's if you are doing this mod for looks.
why else would someone do this mod, besides looks?
my understanding is that Porsche used these 5mm spacers on the Mk1 GT3 simply to clear the bigger rotors; not for performance reasons.
Net: it's not a performance mod. That said, I have to say I'm considering the 5mms as well just to fill out the wheel wells subtly.
Another thing worth noting is that IMHO 14-15mm spacers look like hell on these cars *unless* they are drastically lowered (which tends to give negative camber, which tends to lessen the visual impact of the spacers). I've got to say that it looks great on the x74/gt3-ish low cars, though.
I'll agree w/most of that.
Ride height and a pleasing offset go hand in hand (with a given wheel arch....& some wheel arches are screwed up
).
Having said that........I'd also suggest thinking through each completely. Too low w/out proper planning brings a host of 'challenges'.
Everything has it's price.

I think your comments are on the mark. The camber of the alignment after lowering makes a 14/15 or 15/15 a perfect setup for filling out the well.
