I recently called Weissach to check on their annual sale and I was told that there's nothing yet but typically it's mid-summer.

RUF makes a magnesium wheel set but those are big bucks.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm trying to decide which mod to do first and I'd like to solicit opinions. I recently had my H&R springs installed and I preparing for my next mod, the problem is that I am only prepared to do them in stages with either the Ruf Aero kit plus paint and installation, or a set of 19" IForge Swifts with tires (obviously). Given that there will probably be several months between mods (keep the wife happy) I can't decide which to do first.
Will the Ruf Aero kit look out-of-place with the 17" Carrera wheels? I really love the look but think it may really understate the car/kit. On the other hand, I prefer the 19" wheel setup with a body kit as I'm not overly keen with 19" wheels on a stock body. I guess the other option is just waiting altogether until I can do both.
Any input greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Gerardo
OK, I will give you the response I have seen numerous times. At first I thought it was merely a sarcastic and unhelpful suggestion. Now, I realize how important it is. Here goes:
Neither. Spend your money on modifying the driver. In other words, attend as many DE events, or take as many driving lessons as you can, before you spend your money on mods. You will get a lot more bang for the buck, and you may realize that you do not want the mods you thought you wanted in the first place.
Now, if you are already in the black group or a pro driver, I apologize for the brief delay. Buy the wheels first.
get the wheels first,
i made a bass ackwards decision to start with the kit and realized that my wheels would probably look odd with it.
how much are those RUF wheels and wat do they weigh in at?
This forum totally rocks and I'm hooked. This will only be the beginning of my mods (wife wishes I never found this site). First, two forums with the same question and no one thinks it's a good idea on the body kit first. So that's settled in my mind. My car is artic silver and the '00 RUF RGT is my ideal. I love the look of the RUF 19" wheels, however, I really don't want to be a poser when that's not what the car is. Does anyone feel that it would be just that -- a poser?
Hey Gerardo,
Do you subscribe to Excellence Magazine? Keep an eye out for Weissach's ad. They run a wheel sale every now and then. Last time they had a sale the RUF 18" wheel set was around $2,400. Not cheap but they usually go for around $4,000. The RUF 18" and 19" wheel sets look great but are on the heavy side. RUF makes a magnesium wheel set but those are big bucks.
Cheers,
I've subscribed since about '92 and recently had to get rid of most of them (rat pack Porsche stuff). Anyway, I kept the November 2000 issue featuring the same car. I knew then that ultimately this is what I wanted but didn't want to pay for the real thing. I recently called Weissach to check on their annual sale and I was told that there's nothing yet but typically it's mid-summer. I'm thinking about it but need to get my winter wheels off the car (Pirelli Winter Sports on my C2 wheels) so I'll probably go with IForge 19".
Your car looks totally terrific IMO. Love that color too!
