Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

is there a way to remove it? if i move the seat up closer the holder gets in the way of my knees. i looked underneath and it looks like its attached from the other side, because there are no screws or boltheads at the underside attachment points. i tried yanking the thing off thinking that it was held by a pop-it but i was pulling pretty hard and didn't want to push my luck. anyone know how to remove it? i'd love the extra legroom. interestingly though, i'm a short driver, but i do like having the steering wheel as close to me as possible, especially on track days because my arms tire out easily

POST 2Original post

I know it can be removed and reinstalled again, not because I removed it, but I once hit it and it fell off and I had to put it back on. So I am sure if your look closely at it, you'll see how it comes out.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

pull it off? it was flexing alot already when i tried...i guess ill hafta try harder. thanks!

POST 5Original post

Look under there with a light. The map shelf is held in place with 2 plastic "rivets." The rivet has a middle pin that expands the back end of the rivet. The pic shows the rivet with the pin not inserted all the way. You will not be able to pull out the pin to release the rivet. Instead, you push it further into the rivet with a tool that is just smaller than the pin untill the pin comes out of the back end of the rivet.

Tool Pants, One of mine are broken,so one side hangs down. Can they be replaced/fixed? Thanks

POST 8Original post

munro, the plastic rivets are easily replaced. Your local Porsche dealer should have them. If not go over to your local BMW dealer. BMW uses several different sizes of these so bring your old one with you. Very easy fix. Good luck
