Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace oil' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace oil' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The oil pressure gauge on my 2002 996 indicates at the highest level, over 5 bar, as soon as I rev the engine. At idle, it indicates about 3 bar. The owner's manual says it should be about 3.5bar at 3000 RPMs, but it is 5 bar plus on the indicator. I need to know if I should be concerned and what, if anything, to do about it.
Thanks
Just tagging onto this thread. Has been 4K miles since I've changed oil. I'm running at 5 whenever I rev over 2200 rpm...in every gear. Also, at idle, I'm at 3. Seems high accrording to research. Any input fellas???
J
oh good.....i thought it was normal to be at the 2 at idle...not 3. Guess it's ok as long as it's not low. I'm pretty sure my car used to run lower at higher rpm's...didn't realize it sticks at the 5 in the past. Who knows.
J
When the my engine is cold it shows higher pressure but when it's fully warmed up at idle it's at about 1.5 and slightly above 3.5 at 3000 rpm. Hope it helps. 1999 C2 with 47,000 miles here.
I did do a search.....and resurrected this thread. I'm the king of searching bud. Most of my questions and issues are answered with a search.....just didn't seem to pop up anything specific.
A great weekend to all,
J
Michael....lol...very funny. Didn't intend to have a loud bark on that one. Heading out for some beers in a bit as your smiley indicates.
You have a great weekend too bud.
ciao,
Jon
a/k/a Search King....I know it's been a while since you've been able to break out the sign...all good.
