Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had the rear pads changed out recently and when they heat up, they squeal...it's driving me crazy.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Guys:
Mintex FINALLY has the fronts in stock in the USA for the C4S and TT.
I have always had good luck with Mintex pads for everyday street use and they produce VERY little dust.
I have always bought mine from Mark at
www.germanautoparts.com
. The part number is MDB2416.
Tell him Tim sent you
Hope this helps someone out. I ordered mine today.
I inquired about the Mintext Red pads. I'm tired of brake dust.
in case they don't have them anyone know what other vendor stock these pads consistently?
Just to help out anyone else that's interested, my buying experience from this vendor (thx to Tim above) has been pleasant so far. Very responsive:
Benjamin,
I do show both front and rear Mintex. pad sets available. The fronts were $95.00 for the set, the rear set would be $68.00.
If you would like to place the order for these items please contact us at 1-877-4GERMAN to do so and refer to quote # . Thank you.

I had the same experience with Mintex red on a previous car - never seemed to me that it had less dust than stock german pads. When I changed the 996 ones, I also went the Hawk route - not the HPS but the ceramics. Night and day comparison to stock pads - you'll really notice a difference (though there is still some signs of dust after a couple weeks of not washing).
I'm definitely interested in some dustless pads...do the Mintex or the Hawk pads squeak? I had the rear pads changed out recently and when they heat up, they squeal...it's driving me crazy. thanks.
Yea i'm running the mintex reds... feels the same as stock pads and unfortunately dusts as much as the stock pads, maybe slightly less.
i'm going to have to check out the Hawk ceramics. what are the goods/bads about this particular pad? less stopping power? eats rotors more quickly?
I was checking several sites selling the Hawk Ceramic pads.
All list the HB291(front) and HB290(rear) as fitting 1999-2005 C4 but do not list the C2 Porsches.
Are the C4 brakes the same as the C2?
