Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All, I recently installed a Kenwood 7100 Nav unit with Bluetooth in my 2002 C4s. The Bluetooth unit is fairly big and the only place I found to install it was underneath everything in the center console on top of a metal box that has a sticker on it referring to something about the airbag. I'm assuming this is some kind of airbag central unit or something??? My question is, do you think it's dangerous to mount the Bluetooth unit on top of this airbag unit? I'm not sure what the airbag unit actually does, but I don't want to take any chances ;-) Thanks... josh

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply tool pants. Now, do you think it's unsafe to attach anything to that or should it be ok? thanks... josh

POST 4Original post

Just be careful not to unplug anything while doing it!

POST 5Original post

I spoke to a mechanic that works at a local dealership. They would never attach anything to the air bag control unit. With that said.... He has seen all types of devices sitting on top of the unit. Use velcro. If your device requires a ground then find an independent ground. Do not play around with the unit or you can set off an air bag. Do not hit it with a hammer, and so on.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tool Pants and everyone else that replied, Thanks so much for the info. I'm heading out to the car (minus a hammer) to attach it now ;-) Thanks again... josh
