Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My SY Porsche is in the shop now getting the door and side skirt fixed, and I replaced the plastic screws and nut inserts with new ones over the weekend, sanded down the spoiler and painted it semi-flat black.

Suggestion
My first car was a '59 MGA in (the equivalent of) SY -- which I thought helped it not get run over by inattentive drivers.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So we are on the way to Wrightsville Beach Last week on 74 in NC.
V-1 on......cruising around 90mph...... I pass a black Tahoe with no markings.
**Blue Lights**
He pulls me over. V1 never went off..not a peep.
"Do you knwo how fast you were going?"
"No sir i dont"
"you really dont knwo how fast you were going?"
"no sir"
"Step back here with me please"
So i get in his Tahoe front seat
" Im going to give you a verbal warning. I cant tell you how fast you were going but (points to radar reading of 90.2) But please pay attention. Im on my way to an accident, so have a safe trip"
"Thanks Ill watch it"

Ok So We get home a few days later and go for Brunch Sunday Morning. I park WAY out of the way. We come back out and there is a Minivan parked about 12 inches away in an empty f'in parking lot. To top it off. The ladys bratty *** kid is dripping ice cream down the side if my car...WTF? No ****.. Chocolate syrup running down the side of the car on the rear passanger flare.
Wont go into what i said.

Yesterday (laborday) we decide to go uptown for lunch. I get about a mile out of the house..
**Blue Lights**
****, again!
$170 ticket for illegal tint.
Or maybe you're a lucky guy?
You got a warning. I would have got a speeding ticket.
You got ice cream. I would have got a trip to the Dent Wizard.
You got nailed for an illegal tint. I would have got ANOTHER speeding ticket.
For a guy with a yellow Porsche, I'd say you had a good week.
Just a bad week and that's all.
2 weeks ago I go out to my company vehicle that I have always parked on the road (we live at the end of a court) only to find someone had backed into the door behind the driver. So I decide to drive the SY Porsche to work to take my mind of that. On the freeway a piece of wood laying in the far right lane ( I saw it and I was in the 3rd lane from the right...I am very observant when driving on the road and notice everything), was run-over by a pick-up truck and it flew over and hit the side of my car. Went to the body shop and got an estimate of $1,300 to fix it (deep scratches in the paint on the door and side skirt). I drive my SY Porsche to lunch that day and did not notice that the parking spot I was pulling into had one of those wheel stop curbs (the curb was painted black of all colours) and so I hit that with my lower spoiler and ripped it half-way off (fortunately it is held with plastic screws and nut inserts so no damage to the bumper).
So they you have it, a bad day for me and it was cheaper than your week
My company car is getting estimates done on it. My SY Porsche is in the shop now getting the door and side skirt fixed, and I replaced the plastic screws and nut inserts with new ones over the weekend, sanded down the spoiler and painted it semi-flat black.
Dave,
What % tint do you have...I live in Charlotte and go to Wrightsville too. Highway 74 passed Laurinburg is where I hit my personal best of 135..great wide open place to open her up...
I don't know about that Tim......I speed yellow 996 GT3 (like dell) or the one above you reply....with black rims...and how about some yellow part in the interior??? yellow stiching and yellow (or red) seat belts...I think I might take the fact that you are taunting Murphy's law for granted.
I drive a SPEED YELLOW attention grabber b/c I bought mine for the track. I know that the rare time it will see on the street I will just have to tolerate all the attention it gets. When I drive around town, etc., I am VERY aware of my speed b/c I just don't need to deal with the bs of a cop, and I do have a V1.
I'd be curious as to why your V1 didn't go off???
When it comes right down to it, there are very FEW cars that can pull off yellow. Porsche is one of them so why NOT drive one?
Or better yet, why not have two?
My first car was a '59 MGA in (the equivalent of) SY -- which I thought helped it not get run over by inattentive drivers. However, I intentionally looked for a silver 996 out of laziness: I wanted it as close as possible to the color of dirt so it wasn't so obvious that I hadn't washed it recently.
What is an Illegal Tint?
My yellow car doesn't seem to have nearly as much fun as you guys, I've been photographed a few times by speed cameras but otherwise it gets left alone.
Now when I was younger and had a silver VW Scirocco with a black Starsky & Hutch stripe, that was a cop magnet. I was on first name terms with half of the local station.
actually spent a great deal of time there. Did my undergrad and grad (M.S.) there. Did my other grad work (PhD) at UNLV...which is where the "LV" comes from in my userid. Dell is just my name. I guess I could have been TXDell but I registered on this site when I was in LV so it seemed the right way to do it.
The helmet decals are just football helmet decals that I applied to my driving helmet. Gotta represent right?
Nice. Not sure if you keep track of things with athletics, but I am a season ticket holder for football. from the looks of things last week it could very well end up being a long year for us.
You ain't kidding! I had to watch it on the "Game Tracker" on ESPN. It's like listening to the radio, but WORSE!
WTF are we doing let a team like Ark ST stay close??? This could be a very long season is exactly right. 4 1/2 weeks to the Red River Shootout
I can't believe I am going to say this, but I sure hope we get by TCU
Not Sheet! It really was as bad as it sounded. The interior OL, LB and DB all have big problems that I am not sure exactly how they are going to get fixed this year. Hopefully we figure something out. Those damn Fletchers Corn Dogs just are not as good after an *** whipping, but somehow I seem to find a way to persever and eat 4 of them. I feel disgusted with myself for weeks afterwards, but those things are so glorious in conjunction with the beer in the wax-paper cups!
Dell, you live in NC now! That's the problem with people in Texas and why my taxes are so high. They build football stadiums for high schools that look like the Rose Bowl.
I'll tell ya what. I'll pay your taxes (property I assume) if you pay my NC income tax! Oh how I miss the land of no state income tax. Gotta love that oil
IIRC, the property taces were roughly 3% whereas here in NC it's roughly 1% but then you have add in income so my guess is that it is a wash. Oh wait a sec......we also have a STUPID car tax yearly! That's a painful check to write. Heck, I even have to pay the tax on my trailer
