Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay guys, with my new amazing pse that I just installed I bought a set of Eisenman turbo exhaust tips. You know the ones that have the circle and the oval attached to them. Well, as most of you probably know, these are made to fit on the the turbos. If you want to fit them on a 996 you have to either go to a muffler shop and have them reshape the pipe that connects the muffler to the tips or buy the modified tube from somewhere. I chose to modify the existing pipe because my tip didn't come with a modified pipe. It was a big pain in the **** for the muffler shop to modify it but they did it. Unfortunately it didn't go on quite right becase the tips and pipe are not long enough. The tips end a little behind the bumpeur and it is blowing hot air into the bumper. Also, the piping has a hole in it from where the old tips where bolted on through. Therefore, it sounds different. Anyone know where I can find the piping?

POST 2Original post

you know you can buys ones that are specifically made to fit. bolt on, job done - right?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know but I bought one from a friend second hand and those exhaust that are made specifically for the 996 are the same tips but it comes with the piping

POST 4Original post

Why cant your muffler shop just fab an extension tube onto the new tips... Am I missing something?

That's thinking outside the box.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First of all no Subaru tips look nicer than any porsche tips. Second, Michael s. Under is right, the muffler shop can fabricate the pipe but it is too expensive and not worth it. I think it may have to be done though. I am trying to get a hold of the guy one ebay that sells the same style tip but for non turbos, he has the pipe but he wont answer me.
